The late hit out-of-bounds call was complete BS and absolutely altered the game, but, either way, completely shutting down the pass offense at the 14 min mark is inexcusable and the blame falls squarely on the coaching.
Getting conservative at, say, 8 minutes to go, is one thing, but 14 minutes to go? Wow. Just a complete offensive coaching failure by this staff. No excuses for that. None.

This was a disappointing end to a disappointing season. The defense lost the game today with it's 3rd blown 10 point lead. It's a shadow of what it once was. Our offense wasn't great, but wasn't terrible considering how good Missouri's defense is. 24 points should be enough to win a game. I'm not very high on Sullivan. There better be an open QB competition come spring.
Lastly, why didn't we go for it or at least attempt a FG in the second drive of the game when it was 4th & 2? It turned out to be the difference.

Well, if you assume the O won't score, you can focus on losing a 10 point lead. Or we Iowa folx can start having higher, more reasonable expectations for the offense. Hawks scored 3 in the second half.
I thought Iowa should have gone for it on the two previous 4th downs instead of punting. And on that last one...I wish they would have kicked... what do I know.
Never saw breven doll out there today on O. Seems like once the game got going, and W was in reach, the personnel decisions were normal game day stuff. Syuppose if they were to get boat raced we would have seen some youngsters.

Coaching staff JOB to get a better QB. Missouri won because they have better QB. Unfortunately we wasted a few years of GREAT defense and now we are facing a big downturn I fear. 2025 going to be rough. But at least I got the Bears…oh wait….

Missouri is a Top 25 team.
Iowa is not.
At this point in time, I'd take ISU over Iowa from a standpoint of talent at the skill positions.
You're trolling with Nebraska as they've been irrelevant for several years. They are however trending up unfortunately.

Ironically similar results. I missed the game because I thought with it being a week day non-holiday that it would be an evening game. Seeing the final score probably better spending time the way I did with family time.
I am still on page one of the thread and will scan through everyone’s comments to get an idea of how things went …………… maybe that’s a bad idea.

I actually miss Jon. I always liked his postgame analysis, especially in recent years when he chimes in for the Iowa Everywhere podcast.
