Murray On Groza Watch List

How is a guy on a watch list for being one of the best players in the nation, and still hasn't secured the starting role on his own team???
 
Way too much hype for this Iowa team. Don't get me wrong, I think we have the potential to have an outstanding team this year. But there are still some question marks out there. This season can't get here quick enough. I am slowly getting tired of predictions and preseason awards. Let's play some football!

I agree. That's a good way to keep players from becoming a fat cat.
 
He is a senior kicker on a highly ranked team with some big kicks under his belt. He should be on the pre-season list. Still doesn't mean he will win the job in camp. We will see.

Agreed. Also, I think Murray gets more criticism from the fanbase than he deserves. He did a pretty decent job last year. Sure there was some inconsistency and a few ugly kicks, but we can't have a Nate Kaeding type of kicker every year. Plus, after that kick against Penn State in 2008, I think he should get at least some leeway.
