EAST LANSING — Michigan State junior tight end Dion Sims is “day to day†with a left ankle injury but unlikely to play when MSU hosts Iowa on homecoming Saturday, coach Mark Dantonio said today on The Paul W. Smith Show on WJR 760-AM.
“I don’t know that he’ll make it this week,†Dantonio said of Sims, “but he may make it next week. We’ll have to see how he responds in the next couple days, really.â€
Sims hurt the ankle early in Saturday’s 31-27 comeback win at Indiana. After Iowa, the Spartans travel Oct. 20 to play Michigan.
Sims did not catch a pass before going down Saturday, but he still leads MSU with 24 catches for 313 yards.
----------
He is their most consistent receiver so this could be a big help to our defense. It's obvious from other articles that they don't think we have a chance, they saying that because we lost to C Michigan and they beat them 41-7 that this will be a warm up game for the rest of their season. I thought we played much better against Minnesota so I think they may be surprised.
