MSU reinstates Nix

Izzo is going to make Derrick Nix 'miserable' - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN

All he has to do is run sprints and he's back on the team, what a JOKE!!!

Side note, classic espn for taking the positive approach to the story, if this was an Iowa player espn would be up in arms calling for our coaches head.

If you read more closely, Izzo never said what Nix would be doing. Brennan was merely speculating, and did so in a "that's only the beginning" kind of tone. And I wouldn't put your blanket ESPN label on Brennan, either. He's from Iowa, and has written plenty of positive stuff about Iowa.

Plus, have you seen Nix? Running a **** ton of sprints will be torture for that guy. But I highly doubt that's all Izzo will make him do.

Since MSU wins people don't spend a whole lot of time talking about how many players leave, get kicked off and are arrested.

Izzo did kick off Lucious and Allen, but after he suspended them multiple times; it seems they don't take him that serious in all cases.

Remember Nix didn't go to Maui last season and many, including myself, out here did not feel he would be back this season. Well, he gets in trouble and is back in just a few weeks and it is doubtful there will significant punishment, it isn't what Izzo does until they cross the major line he will get rid of them. That is only two players out of at least 8 that have left the program in the last 5 years and most had been in trouble of some sort.

Winning ignores all troubles, Iowa fans should know something about that... :D

If your a fan you love it, if your a rival or someone who isn't a fan of MSU it isn't enough. It wont change that's how it is if Fran did this it would be funny and we would move on.

Not really, when there is a pattern of behavior like Nix it is amazing how many chances he will get. He has had issues every year on campus at MSU and it just continues.

It one thing to give players a chance, but when they don't learn at some point the player has to move on. It took about six incidents each for Allen/Loucious to be kicked off.

To go off you point of if Fran did this it would be funny, well, maybe to you, but after everything Nix has done to let his program down, I don't think Fran would have kept him around after he walked away from his team early in the season last year. I could be wrong, but I don't think it has happened yet at Iowa.

Ya I commented without knowing the severity of his actions. So I guess it is a case by case issue.

I do believe this is the first legal issue with him, unless I am mistaken.

The thing about this is that Nix has teetered on getting kicked off multiple times and this time he is really given a free pass on the actual severity of "this" particular issue.

The article says something about Izzo owes his mother something; the thing is, that entitles Nix, but at the same time Izzo can't make himself look bad at the same time, so playing the pity card to make himself look good.

Nix is a nasty piece of work, surprised he isn't on the Cincinnati basketball team. He has the Gangster/Thug mentality that would fit. The Spartans this year definitely had a BadBoy attitude that was not pleasant to watch.....

By the way, Gangster/Thug is a self-administered label applied by Xavier/Cincinnati players after their disgraceful brawl.....

:D
