MSU Players Only Meeting

MSU held a players only meeting heading into tonight's game. Good news or bad news for the Hawks? Most fans are chalking up tonight's game as an L, does this new revelation make it certain.

For me I'm not sure, we can clearly play with any team in the land, is tonight the game we finally finish?
 
We are a physically weak team...this is their senior night...this will be our house of horrors!!! MSU 76 Iowa 52 also MSU will get every call to go their way.
 
Dunno if we are going to get beat by 24 points.....

Though I am not picking us to win by any means....
 
Maybe I'm crazy but these are overrated.

I'm sure the message was let's win tonight for the seniors and it is the start of March and their run starts tonight.
 
That fact they had to have a silly meeting is great news for us. They are playing like crap and they are just bringing attention to it. We have this one!!

I "liked" this only because I'm deathly afraid this is how it's going to go down, not because I necessarily like it. Seems to me the Hawks will be battling several things besides the Spartans tonight:

- A team playing aggressively and with focus because of 1) Senior Night and 2) the players-only meeting.
- An even more animated Tom Izzo who'll get away with everything. Stripes won't ring him up in the last game of the season in Breslin.
- Every call in favor of MSU, against Iowa. The Appling travel in Carver will seem like just a hop, skip and a jump compared with what will or won't get called tonight.
- Iowa players' own uncertainties, weakness.

This could be Iowa's worst loss of the season.

Dead on.
This feels like a double-digit loss to me tonight.
MSU is more afraid of Izzo and letting him down than of the Hawks. They will be doing more diving on the floor than Sparty's defensive line in Kinnick Stadium.
 
Not disagreeing this could be rough tonight but does the fact they had a players make you feel this way or did u feel that way prior to knowing about this meeting?
 
The only additional salt I can pour in the wound is that Hawks will blow not 1, not 2 but THREE separate 8+ point leads.

It will be a classic addition to the chronicles of 2014, where Iowa is footnoted as the team talented enough to beat anyone in the country ... just not tough enough to.

Well, for me, I was thinking 4-5 pt loss, the meeting has just magnified my fears though. So now I'm hoping and praying for sweet victory, but if I were to put $ on it..........-8.

No.....wait. I refuse to be afraid of men in green uniforms. Hawks are going into that damned Breslin Center, they are gonna beat msu, beat izzo, beat their student section, and the zebras.

Hawks by 1 in double OT GD it!! Now who's with me?????

I hear all the Hawks got together to play Xbox last night so that trumps uptight MSU! Iowa wins by 4.

Yep. The only way to prevent the above scenario is for us to come out and play defense like it's the only end of the court that counts. Since we haven't seen that kind of commitment in a long time, I don't see this working out well for us tonight.
 
Iowa's unofficial players only meeting if they had one, maybe they didn't feel the need to advertise it to the world > MSU's look at me were doing a players only meeting.

Yeah, this.

The only way this will be a win is come out for a fist fight and play thug ball. This is the game to toughen up.

Make the refs call it both ways so they will feel the threat of losing control of the game. The Hawks have 10-man rotation. That's 45 fouls if they have to.
 
When MSU came to Iowa City, they committed a foul every 1.3 minutes over the course of the game. Oh, wait. That number represents how many were CALLED. They will hammer the h... out of the Hawks tonight so we better be ready to shoot a lot of free throws and make shots with someone hanging on their arm. Book it.

true that...not only did the big deal us the toughest big schedule... They top it off with Iowa having to play senior night at msu..sucks to be us,izzos will get every call andnoncall.
