MSU @ OSU tonight

So its possible iowa could play two games in dsm or stl then 2 more in chicago?!

Yeah its very possible. It helps if Iowa keeps winning though. The teams in the Midwest bracket play rounds 3/4 in chicago. So Iowa has to get put into the Midwest bracket if they want to play in Chicago. The first two rounds it doesnt matter which bracket you get put in, they try to place seeds 1-4 as close to home as possible

Rounds 3/4:
Midwest: Chicago
South: Louisville
East: Philly
West: Anaheim

Ohio State is a paper pistachio:

Against teams with winning B1G records they are 1-5.

Against teams with losing records they are 9-0.

Meh

Tate is out for the year for OSU. That's huge. I wasn't worried about this game before. Now I'm even more confident.

I'm not worried about playing MSU again. Clemmons shutting Forbes down is why we beat them. He's wide open tonight...won't get that with Clemmons on him.

I didn't realize tate was out for the year. Did that happen in practice or something? I thought I watched his last game and didn't remember him getting hurt

This is the year Sappy gets all the bragging rights over his two buds.

Torn labrum I believe. It's been bothering him and they shut him down...surgery Friday. Tonight is the 1st game he has missed.

My prediction appears to be right on that we will tie MSU for 2nd at 13-5, IU gets title at 14-4.

UNLESS we beat OSU on the road (after our W tomm) just like MSU did.

Then, we still gotta shot.... :)

I agree, Why not think the hawks can get back to where they were and finish 4-0 and win it all.

This team can certainly do it with improved FT shooting, better job on 50-50 balls and rebounding, and more efficient offense.

No team in the last decade has shot 3s in major-conference play as well as Michigan State 2016 (46.0%), not even Ohio State 2011 (45.2).

In the first game between Iowa and Michigan State they were 3 for 13 (23.1%) and Forbes was 0 for 3. In the second game they were 4 for 21 (19.0%). Forbes was 0 for 4.

Forbes is Michigan State's best 3 point shooter at 49.4%. He's shooting 0% on 7 attempts against Iowa. He's shooting 51.5% (88 for 171) against everyone else.

Valentine is shooting 45.1% on 182 attempts for the season. He was 3 for 8 (37.5%) against Iowa.

Uthoff on Valentine and Clemmons on Forbes are good match ups for Iowa. It won't bother me at all to play them a 3rd time. Costello averages 10.3 a game and Harris averages 9.3. So stopping/slowing Valentine and Forbes is the key to beating them. I'm sure other teams know this but they don't have Uthoff and Clemmons.

Iowa has definitely not proven we can beat teams of Ohio State's calibre on the road.
