MSU @ OSU tonight

Would love to see the buckeyes win this one. The msu hype train is full speed ahead. Hope we beat em a third time.

I knew this was going to happen. Michigan State was highly regarded. Now they close with a relatively easy schedule. It " looks" like they have really put it together...and they are playing better. But momentum was inevitable with the soft schedule. They have to win the conference tournament to convince me...and they might.

I've been convinced they're the real deal for a long time. The only reason most people question them is because Iowa beat them twice.

Agreed

Kansas losing at Baylor tonight would be good for Iowa as well...so Iowa has a better shot at Des Moines.

Ultimately Iowa just needs to win though...its in their own hands

Kansas won't stop iowa from being in des moines. But they can stop them from being in the Midwest bracket and playing in chicago in the sweet 16.

If KU won out and Iowa finished strong...wouldn't be better to be a #2 seed in MW vs a #1 seed out west? I know the venues and regions have changed, correct? I mean two 1 seeds can be at same venue...right?!?

My understanding is that kansas AND michigan state together can keep Iowa out of Des Moines.

Edit: actually i think St Louis might be closer to Lansing than Des Moines so maybe thats incorrect. I know at one point last week or the week before Palm had Iowa playing in St Louis instead of Des Moines. I thought that was because of MSU but maybe not

What have you heard about that? I've heard top 4 seeds play close to home as possible. Meaning top 16 teams. I can't think of any reason why MSU would matter. I also don't see why MSU would play in Des Moines.

Well St Louis is a little closer to Lansing than Des Moines, but its not by a lot. If Michigan State and kansas were both seeded ahead of Iowa, I think its possible they both go to Des Moines. I know Palm had it this way at one point, but he no longer does so maybe he corrected himself.

I've heard that Des Moines is already sold out, so wouldn't the NCAA prefer to send Iowa down to St. Louis, knowing that Iowa fans would sell out that arena. So in this scenario, Kansas and either Mich St. or Iowa State could go to Des Moines, and Iowa would become the big draw to St. Louis? The NCAA would then get 2 venues sold out.

I'd prefer Des Moines, but won't be shocked if Iowa ends up in St. Louis either.

Iowa State cant play in Des Moines since they're the host school. So at least we have that going for us.

My guess is that if Iowa was a 1-4 seed and Michigan State was a 1-4 seed MSU would go to St Louis. Seems Lunardi and Palm both agree.

I am actually pulling for MSU. Not because I want them to win, but I don't want OSU to have momentum going into our game. And we play them in Columbus to boot.
