MSU loses Branden Dawson for 4-5 weeks

IMO the irony is that he did it because he was frustrated with the way he was playing recently and that he needed to up his game to be part of a title run. Nothing ups your game more than missing 4 plus weeks for being stupid and beating up a table. Wonder how many film sessions the table will miss.

MSU performed reconstructive surgery on the tabletop before Dawson's surgery last night. With the right performance-enhancing substances, it could be back in time for the Iowa game but should be back to full strength for the Georgetown game. Dawson learned a lesson that when you take frustration out on inanimate objects, a lot of the time you get the worst of it.

Yeah, I read somewhere that the table is day to day. Izzo is playing it close to the vest...by far their best table.

Adreian Payne out for Michigan State Spartans against Michigan Wolverine - ESPN

"There is a chance Payne could return for the road contest at Iowa next Tuesday, sources told ESPN.com, but a more likely scenario has the versatile big man sitting out against the Hawkeyes and also a nonconference matchup against Georgetown on Feb. 1 in New York."

I honestly wish that, if this were going to happen anyway, that it would happen for the game in East Lansing. I think we can beat MSU in Carver even if they're healthy. I don't feel as confident about that in Breslin.

This. It seems like everytime we play in EL that it is Senior Day and they lay a beat down on us and Izzo at the end of the game is subbing his seniors out one at a time to numerous standing ovations. Im guessing we have them on Senior Day again this year.

This is trouble for MSU but it puts MI in the driver's seat for the B1G title as their game this week vs MSU is at East Lansing. Also, with plantar fasciitis, Payne won't be quite the same all season. With Dawson out for most of the rest of the the season as well, MI and IA have an edge now for 1st and 2nd in the B1G.
