It's just starting, folks.BTN is running a special tonight. MSU assistant BB coach is involved. I think d'Antonio and Izzo are in jeopardy, and should be.

You never know, but after Cedric Everson trial, my guess is that their radar is on a very high detection setting. With that said, I'm not so worried about Kirk and Fran, but Barta would be the wild card in this, his carelessness and seeming cluelessness with and about details and hot button issues is remarkable.
 
I’m sure the AD will get a sweet deal like the MSU President did. One year at full salary, 5 years at 75% salary, lifetime tickets to all sporting events, and an office and secretary for life.

And no, I’m not making that up...

i haven't been following the story in great detail. but how would the men's basketball and football coaches be involved with a trainer that was assaulting females? where is the tie to men's football/basketball?

There isn’t a tie-in, per se, but there have been reports of sexual assault cover ups from football players and one or more asst basketball coaches there...

Rhabdo came same time as Everson trial, actually slightly before. Further, not to split hairs but the rhabdo issue is different, MSU is about sexual assaults, but I understand there is some common thread. Not aware of Sapp issue? Are you talking about Benny Sapp? If so, he was at Iowa way before Everson. So unless there is another Sapp issue, I stand by my statement. Look at what happened to Marcus Coker, he was caught up in the wash of the Everson matter - an issue too hot to handle at that time.

From personal experience, cronyism and abuse of power occurs at pretty much all universities. Even Baylor thought they had something special leading them and it wasn't.

For sure we've entered a new era in college sports and for the most part it will be better. It's hard for me to vilify PSU, MN, Baylor and MSU when it happens all over. It's wrong and people should go to jail.

It's a bit of a personal thing for me as I had an immediate family member hurt by the spouse of a prized university employee who was a colleague. I was pressured to not have my family member testify as it was a key part of the prosecution. The spouse went to jail. In the process of budget reorganization, my team was cut and the mentor of the employee of the criminal spouse blocked my moving to another department. They also put the colleague spouse on my tenure committee (no joke). It' worse than that, but that's a drive by. The prosecution involved children and they then put the spouse of the sex offender in charge of 4-H. They reasoned that the spouse didn't do it so shouldn't be impacted.

I wish I were kidding, but it's no joking matter to me. Mad as hell about MSU. Though a different Big, the scenario is the same. The Doyle Award will always piss me off. The handling of the alleged rape will also piss me off.

When upper levels be they AD's Presidents or coaches get above how most are treated there will be trouble. When I was fighting this type of crap is was harder than hell. The tide has changed and if any Big has covered things up, there will be people coming after them.

Supposedly there's an OTL piece on Michigan State coming this Sunday. My guess is the whole thing is gonna burn down and I'm looking forward to it. Izzo and dantonio at the top of the list.
