which team had the "most magical season" and who do you think was the "most fun to watch"? ( this is from the past 6 yrs, info from wikipedia.

Drake 2007/08: 28-5 (15-3), swept other iowa schools. 21 game win streak. reaches as high as #14 ranking. one win over a ranked opponent, beat #8 butler on the road. regular season and mvc tourny champs. all losses were by 6 or less. #5 seed in the dance, loses a heartbreaker. imo wouldv made sweet 16 (wouldv played san diego in the 2nd rnd)

UNI 09/10: 30-5 (15-3), swept other iowa schools. first 22 games they win 20. highest ranked #13. one win over a ranked team, beat #1 kansas in tourny. regular season and mvc tourny champs. losses by points were under 10. #9 seed in tourny, beat unlv and #1 kansas before losing to mich st. in sweet 16.

Iowa 05/06: 25-9 (11-5), losses instate to uni and isu, 9-3 vs top 25, 3-1 vs top 10. highest ranking #11. undefeated at home, 2nd place tie with illinois. B1G tourny champs. #3 seed in tourny, loses a heartbreaker first rnd to Nwestern st. (my heart drops everytime i see that replay). this was my fav hawkeye team to watch (im 21, & was a fresh in hs at that time)

Drake. UNI was a really, really solid team but they had been a good NCAA tournament level team for about a decade prior to that. Drake came out of nowhere and had a terrific offense that was really fun to watch. They got a terrible draw in the NCAA tournament and lost in a classic game.

Iowa in '06 was really good, and loved watching Horner and Brunner end their careers on such a good team but wouldn't call it magical.
 


Drake truly had a magical season. They had the best chemistry I have seen in a long while. They would be my choice of the three.....

Really liked UNI taking Kansas out a couple of years ago. That game was certainly magical.....

Because of the NW State loss in the tournament, the Hawks that season are out of the running.....

Almost felt sorry for the Wildcats......

If Drake wasn't associated with Larry Cotlar and Dolph Pulliam it would be them hands down. That being what it is, then UNI's win over KU puts them over the top. That tourney run truly united the state.
 


Northern Iowa because of the run and the game against Kansas. I still remember that kid hitting the three pointer when I was screaming NNNNNOOOO!!!!!!! YYYEAHHH!!!!!!!

It certainly did. They almost beat Michigan State the next game. They came very close....

Ali made the cover of Sports Illustrated after the Kansas win.....

UNI, loved seeing them knock off Kansas..Sports Illistrated featured them as being an unstoppable juggernaut.

That Iowa team had a great regular season. But that loss in the first round was sickening.
