Most important coaching day of the year.

Film session today cannot just be business as usual. KF needs to take a long look in the mirror and realize the season now hangs in the balance. He needs to get the healing started immediately and he also needs the coaching staff, himself included, to take some of the blame. He also needs to make a real decision regarding coaching responsibilities. Because his inaction there has contributed significantly to the two losses.

This team can still end up having a season like 2004. However, it could just as easily be 2005 all over again. This week will determine which way the season goes. His ability to lead will determine what happens this week.

2005 had attitude issues. I don't sense that from this team from what I've read and seen. I anticipate a better Iowa team next Saturday, with a win at the end of the day.

We won a bunch of very close games last year, lost several top kids to the NFL and people are reacting like it will be an upset that we won't win the national championship. I thought we were a 9-3 team when the season started and I haven't changed my mind.

The offensive line has outperformed by expectations, the linebackers and special teams have fallen a bit short. I definitely think we miss Norm, but the kids and the coaches seem very invested. I'd like to see a more vocal leader on D, but this season we've seen some very good football. Stanzi has made remarkable strides IMO and DJK has played to potential.

Sure we need to study film and make corrections, but I don't see this as a program in crisis. Has everyone forgotten the post Evy era? If we had just gotten stomped by Navy or ISU we'd need a gut check. We just lost a one point game to a team that was coming off a victory over Ohio State. We probably should have won this game, but we didn't. Just time to man up and play better next week.

In my opinion, we'll either win out, or have a 7-5 or 8-4 season. This team had expectations for a BCS, or a B10 championship. The former is impossible, the latter is highly unlikely, unless things go our way.

Hopefully these guys don't throw in the towel.

Would agree 100% biggest game in KF era is next week we can either go road of 04 or 05 and if we go 05 route will show Iowa just cannot handle being the favorite so season is in the balance next Saturday and we will be a program and coaching defining moment next week
