If you ever get a little time, you might want to caption a few of these pictures. Took me moment to come up with Larry Station on this particular one. There's going to be quite a few people that aren't going to recognize the pics without a little help.

Bring Back The Bota!
Anyone who went to Iowa prior to 1990 has memories of mixing their concoctions in their dorm rooms or apartments or frat houses on game morning. And tailgate meals of kegs and eggs. In 1988 Iowa played Michigan in a 2:30 start, which was still relatively new back then because it required portable lights to be shipped in. The extra ninety minutes, not to mention the intensity of the game, got fans and students pretty lathered up. There were many alcohol related incidents in the stands that day and the University decided it was the to ban the bota. Not effective at the end of the season. Immediately. For the next home game against Northwestern botas, or any other types of carry in alcohol, were not allowed. Confiscated botas and liquor bottles overflowed trash cans in every entrance of Kinnick.

When Bob Sanders laid the hammer on Chris Chambers in the 2000 Wisconsin game, we knew better times were coming. We lost that day and went 3-9 that year, but help had arrived. Much of it was freshmen and sophomores and more arrived in 2001.
