Most annoying players and coaches in the Big 10

Players

1. Sheehey
2. Sobolewski (Sean Astin look-a-like who never stops flopping or whining.).
3a. Brusewitz (I feel like his hair doesn't help in this case, although he's annoying in general anyway.).
4b. Craft (I could be a great defender if I were allowed to hand check and ride my man's *** as much as he does.).

Coaches

1. Bo, not even close.
2. Bo
3. Crean

I really don't mind Izzo that much, for some reason.

Hmmm. Izzo and Craft are my two favorite non-Hawkeye players/coaches in the Big Ten.

1. Bo
2. Bo
3. Bo

1. Brusewitz
2. Brusewitz
3. The rest of Wisconsin's team

All things Wisconsin. There is no limit to my hatred

Opposing fans hate coaches for one big reason....they win. You hate Bo because he's a winner.

You know why no one hates Pat Chambers or Bill Carmody? Their teams suck.

People in Iowa would hate the F#@$ out of Tim Miles if he won consistently, especially since he is at a border school.

When do you ever hear Wisconsin basketball players in the news for getting in trouble with the law, failing classes, DUI's? I'm sure there is an occasional incident but not the regularity at other schools. People hated Chris Kramer and Brian Cardinal because they were smart, scrappy and good.

Crean is just hyper. The guy cannot sit still. I think he is a pretty good guy, and sure had a lot of nice things to say about Iowa after this year's first game between the two teams.

I dislike Izzo and Ryan in the sense that their constant badgering and bullying of the officials allows their players to get away with murder (lots of fouling). Because they have won a lot, the referees cut them too much slack and don't call fouls that really should be called. I'm glad that Fran gets in the grills of these officials; if you don't, they'll just succumb to the pressure from the other bully coaches. Officiating can be incredibly subjective, so the coach has a real obligation to apply pressure to the officials when he sees poor calls.

Nope. If that were the case I would have said Izzo and Michigan state or OSU, but nice try.

How is this relevant? People don't hate players for their off-court behavior (not in most cases, anyway). They hate them for their ON-court behavior. Brusewitz is annoying as hell. Sobolewski is annoying as hell. Sheehey is annoying as hell. Craft isn't so much annoying himself, but the hype about his "defense" is (similar to all the Tebow hate, in that regard).

On the other hand, there are lots of great players I don't hate. I love watching Trey Burke, Victor Oladipo, etc. It's got everything to do with guys being annoying as hell. I'll admit, Fran's antics, and even a guy like White's, probably get on other fans' nerves in the same way these coaches and players get on mine.

But having a blind spot for your own team/coaches/players is not the same as having a blind spot for bad teams/coaches/players

My top 3 lists:

Most annoying players:
1. Aaron Craft - OSU - reminds me a lot of Steve Wojo at Duke - can't stand either one of these guys.
2. Will Sheehey - IND - extremely cocky
3. Jordan Hulls - IND - surrounded by a ton of talent at IND - makes him appear better than he is

Most annoying coaches:
1. Tom Izzo - always working the refs and moaning about every play - plus his teams tend to play rough and dirty
2. Tom Crean - can't stand his sideline antics - plus he is a really sore loser
3. Bo Ryan - the Grinch got his name for a reason - he is always grumpy

Lifetime achievement award for being most annoying:
Ref Ed Hightower - his annoying status is legendary

Serious hate for IU here, but little mention of Wisconsin, huh? I didn't know Crean's sideline antics were a problem, surely they aren't worse than the antics of Bo, Iz, Groce, Matta, Chambers (some would include Fran in this list). I would think that, with the exception of Bruese, no players really annoy people.

A lot of people in this thread would disagree with you.

I don't think I've truly hated a college basketball player since DeMarcus Cousins of UK, and Josh Harrellson before him. Mostly the cocky ones only make me laugh, like Sheehey and Marshall Henderson.

Players:
1. Derrick Nix - Take the 'weeble-wobble's' left hand away and he absolutely worthless.
2. Rodney Williams - Athletic, but struggles when he has to play actual basketball.
3. Sam Thompson - See above, when that is the first thing an announcer says: "Oh gosh he is so athletic" it is sad, they can't talk about them as a player.

Coaches:
1. Pat Chambers - Guy was laying on the floor this year during play on his end of the floor against Michigan, pounding and yelling at refs...seriously?
2. Tom Izzo - He can make a pretty game ugly by berating officials, grabs officials during play and just whines the whole game.
3. Bo Ryan - I don't think any explanation is needed...pure unadulterated tool.

Agree, and I may have to adjust what I posted earlier now that I've read what Nix said on Thursday. "Keith is just as good as Trey Burke, A Payne is as good as Zeller, Dawson and Oladipo are the same player, Gary Harris is as good as Shabazz Muhammad. We just get no respect"

Wow, all my answers are MSU players and Izzo...teams reflect their coaches attitude.

That's a good list. I would put Izzo on it just because of his constant, unceasing, whining to the officials. I don't hate him, but he is annoying.

Indiana has gotten cocky this year.
