Morning B1G Games thread OSU v. Maryland, Penn State v. Minnesota, Purdue v. Northwestern

Minny doing good job throwing quick slants into open areas as PSU plays zone worrying about Minnys run game. Minny mixing it up with differnet defenses also and PSU making mistakes which of course they didnt do against Iowa.

Minny's coaching staff looks better than Iowa's especially on offense.

3 years in and that's how it looks. 20 years in and Iowa is stalled, I fear. But hey, Iowa is consistent.

I was watching the FOX pre game. Seems like most do. Meyer was highlighting OSUs zone blocking scheme. Maybe we forgot how to do it or our recruiting has severly lapsed in the O line department.

I'll be blunt. I think Iowa's OLine coach is in over his head.

I think most of the offense is in over it’s head. I am just a guy in Colorado that doesn’t know much about football, but I think Kirk needs to hand over the ENTIRE program to other coaches, and basically just be a general manager. It’s what he’s done with the defense and it’s pretty damn good. Take that lesson, and do it with the offense.

pay Phil Parker whatever he needs, and do the same with someone on the offensive side of the ball. Let that guy implement his system, his coaches, recruit his players, and see what happens.

Minnys D is vulnerable.
Very. Clifford is just having a pretty bad day so far. Making very risky throws, even with time.

On that 3rd and goal Clifford had a running lane to the EZ if he lowers his shoulder and takes a hit, but he opted to cut it to the right. He looks really gun shy right now.

What we are seeing is why PSU is not the #4 in the country...and Minny being a bit undervalued. Should be an interesting 2nd half. Still betting Goofy will be Goofy when it is all said and done.

I bet the loser of the Alabama/LSU game remains 3rd and the winner is 2nd. And Clemson moves to 4 after PsU loses. Sound right?

Minnesota is just flat out impressive. I'll be the first to admit, I thought PJ was stuck in the mud during the non-conference season. He was damn lucky to win any of those games and it looked like the same old Gophers.

But they look fast and physical on offense and their D is okay. They're giving up some chunk plays but not anything back-breaking.
