Morehouse Tweet re: Player sent home

The PR stuff is so petty IMO. Its really people's sense of entitlement in this information age. They feel like every thing they hear needs to be verified and every bit of info they are entitled to know about.

On one hand I love that the staff still gives the middle finger to some of that. That being said, don't be surprised when asked about stuff. If it happens, we're going to hear about it.

this is much smaller of an issue than say the rhabdo incident. it doesn't need to be kirk's job, but someone should be designated to stay ahead of this stuff.

Why? Doesnt change what happened nor does it change what they do going forward? Only reason they would is to appeal to the masses.

jon, honestly, have you ever seen a staff that gets caught off guard and behind the PR ball so frequently? maybe if Woods becomes full time he can keep the staff in modern times. he seems pretty with it and tech savvy.

This. I also love that Iowa fans seem to think KF is the only coach that hates dealing with all the stupid rumors that people seem to feel entitled to have an answer 5 seconds after something is posted on a message board.

It really is comical.

+1.

And having control of a situation is not unique to Coach Ferentz or any other coach, or any other person of leadership/business owner, etc.

he is under no responsibility to let joe public know what is going on inside his organization at any one moment in time.

and to avoid the appearance of looking incompetent or getting negative press.

Again my point is thats the fan's (the jump off the ledge fans I might add) that feel like that. Everything needs to be addressed because the program is in SHAMBLES!!!!11!!!**111!!

I'm glad the coaches dont feel the need to respond to every little thing.

LeVar would help. So would Brian... I have complete confidence in Brian Ferentz as a coach, at any position. His dad could use him on the staff, in a BIG way.... You never know. We do need 2 coaches. Assuming Brian would want to leave his good gig in NE...

Yeah, no kidding. Its even more irritating than KF, not wanting to tell them.

just maybe he is more concerned about winning the game them discussing someone. who will not be playing and not helping

Because saying "it's possible" a player was sent home serves to diffuse the rumors that can cause distraction? It'd be a helluva lot easier to either say no one was sent home, or say who it was. By just saying "it's possible," the questions won't go away.

And besides, what really gets discussed at pressers? Nothing actually relevant. It's time a coach has to take out of his day one way or the other. It's not like we're really getting an in-depth look at anything football-related. I don't really get the "more concerned with winning the game" argument.

Ferentz has always always always stayed close to the cuff and ****** in his pressers. People can ask away but should not be surprised when he gets ticked at certain questions. I am not saying I agree with his approach but he is consistent
