More of Dickerson. Less of Clemons.

I'm ready to start seeing a whole lot more of Trey and live with some of the mistakes he's bound to make. He brings some quickness and ability to get in the lane that Clemons or Gesell do not. He shot the ball well last night too. Just like Jok, it will take some time and experience but Trey's upside is so much more than Clemons or Gesell. So play him now, get him some experience, and let's see what happens.

I assume when the OP said play Trey more (minutes), he meant play Trey more minutes like Dom Uhl gets his minutes. Not the starter and not the first guy off the bench. Trey has to get his minutes/experience, Fran, otherwise there will be a gap in experience at PG like Iowa football has experienced in some of their positions. And Trey lends some athleticism to Iowa basketball as Dom does.

Mike G is our best option. Seeing 35+ from a starting PG is the norm and I'm not sure why we don't follow the norm. 10 from your backup is acceptable.

Agree. The kid is not strong at all. He needs some serious weight work. I think he'll get some minutes in many of the remaining conference games, but not a lot.

Yep, get Dickerson some minutes. Not starting minutes, but Dom Uhl type minutes at least.

Regarding his strength, yeah, he looks pretty slight of build so strength is not his, well, strength.. There were guards like Andre Woolridge who had a strong upper body, but I doubt Dickerson will ever be that type of player. I'm hoping he can eventually be more comparable to someone like BJ Armstrong - not known for strength, but is quick, a good passer, and hopefully a good shooter.

I'm sorry, but I've never been overly impressed with Clemmons.. I'm not sure how much he brings to the table. He hasn't come around offensively like I hoped, and his ball handling still makes me nervous.. He's the odd man out IMO if you want Dickerson to get more PT.

35+ mpg is the norm for PG? You didn't do any research. I did and discovered that 2 of the 14 PGs in the B1G are getting 35 or more minutes per game. Most are in the 28 to 33 range. Looks like the average is around 30.

Having said that, I would like to see Gesell get 30 minutes a game instead of the 24 or so he averages.

Classic "I don't understand the game of basketball " post

Whys that? Because MG and Sapp are well on their way to being all BIG 1st teamers? Trey got a handful of mins and got to show that he can throw the ball in the basket. Which the other two evidently can't do with a ton more time. I think those other 2 have had plenty of chances to step up and neither are worthy of the mins they are getting. What's Iowa going to be out if Trey were to get 10-15 mins a game at this point? I bet Fran is pondering it he'd be nuts not to be. Trey may very well out produce MG with half the mins played.

I'm burned out on MG all I want is 8-12 pts 4-6 assists and play tough D. We aren't getting those modest numbers combined from MG and Sapp consistently. It'd be one thing if there was a Marble still on the roster or say JO was knocking down shots when open. But that's sure not happening. Jok is showing he's still got some developing to do yet.

Whens the last time Iowa was getting such little production from the PG spot? And guard spots overall. It's pretty amazing they've been as good as they've been this yr as a team to me...

Doesn't matter what we think. I'm sure Fran saw enough good from TD last night to give him Uhl-type minutes and then go from there.

What about more "W"'s and less "L"'s.....I do not care how it happens, but last night was embarrassing and I didn't get a chance to watch the game....get people involved that will make a difference and do a good job....why in the hell do we recruit these guys if they aren't allowed to showcase their talents....
