More evidence to support my 2013 Iowa vs Isu prediction.......................

It will be a big upset if Isu wins because they will be the worst team in the big 12 this year. And Iowa will have the talent edge this year by a decent margin, unlike a lot of games they played last year.

And there is a good chance that Iowa will be the worst team in the BIG.
Should be an epic game..

Wow! Huge points.

I realize I am in the minority believing that he has never been a good head coach. Everything lined up for him for a few years during the first half of his tenure at Iowa. I actaully identify with ferentz in this regard.

I was with a company as a salesman and set records, won international trips and my wife thought I was King Kong because of that. However, I was not and am not a salesman at all. Ok, how did I have so much success then? Very many variables just came together for me while I was there. Guys that were true salesman were doing poorly at this time and I couldn't understand why I was doing so well, being a non salesman and why they were doing so bad.

In a nut shell, things just came together for me or lightning struck my accounts making them buy from me, or fill in the blank. I firmly believe something similar happened to ferentz during his successful years. Why do I believe that? Well, just look at how he responds to all things football? I mean, junior high coaches could respond better than he does. He just looks like a fish out of water and not just last year. I could list all the dumb things he does or has done, but you guys are already well aware.

Look at his time in Maine? Losing record. I think he's probably a good o-line coach from listening to Hayden talk about him, but he just is not a good head coach.

Hope all this made some sense.

Your salesman analogy might hold weight if you were comparing yourself to a position coach. What we are talking about is the CEO/head coach though. It could be said that if the company had good years on your excellent work, then the CEO is doing a good job, and using his resources wisely (leaning on Parker and the D). The opposite could be said if you were sucking azz in sales, and he kept you on while you dragged the company down (Coach K and others that have been let go, that might have been some of the reason for the terrible attrition that Iowa has experienced).

Either way we simply disagree on this. We all view things differently, and voice our frustration differently.

Not any surprise that Iowa is rated higher against the Clowns. Iowa returns most of their team while ISU lost a bunch. The big negative for Iowa is that it is in Ames this year.
Overall new QB, expeianced O'line, lots of running backs, little better D'line, secondary same or worse and better at LB. Theres enough good and bad to take any view about the Hawks this year. I'm taking the positive view. I expect them to hit 4-0 then go down hill and finish above .500 for the year. But thats with a tougher conference schedule than last year.

The problem comes in when one team takes it much more seriously. Sports is about adrenalin and focus which at a high level when your are really up. Why do you think the clowns beat down the Hawks so much? Talent?

Some truth to this but at the same time high school kids often spend a lot of time jumping up and down and banging their heads against the wall not even thinking about actual assignments. And sometimes you can even be too overhyped an come out and be completely gassed. For me i like KFs approach, I think all our kids are pumped up to play and I don't think we give kf enough credit as I'm sure him and the other coaches do motivate behind the scenes.

While that (in bold and underlined) is true, the important thing is to determine why we disagree on ferentz. In order to do this, we need to get to the aboslute truth about him. And you know what? That's impossible. :D I connect the dots and believe that comes as close to the truth on him as one can come.

But I do think that this year will determine and/or even change minds about him. As much as I would love to think things will be different, history proves that he'll continue to repeat the same things that he's known for.

Really about the only thing I am looking forward to this season is the isu game. Now if ferentz does not win this game this year, it wouldn't surprise me if all hell breaks out with the fan base as being the last straw before total frustration breaks out. Heck, he's already got a losing record against the in state rival that is routinely one of the worst teams in the country There simply will be no reason for Iowa to lose against Isu this year. Plain and simple.

Imagine a 12 page thread dedicated to the clones.

U made it. Congrats. Pretty solid bball squad u guys had this year. I actually like Hoiberg.

Now win a few...will ya.

What? Not the reaction you were hoping for.

Your silly.

So, what plans do you guys have next week? I know I'll be watching isu in the tourney

I had tons of fun watching Iowa kick ISU's *** last December. Just remind yourself that ISU would be sitting at home had they played in the BIG this year.

Keep telling yourself lies. If Iowa can't play in the big 10 consider a conference that matches their ability.

ISU fan says this crap all the time about the Big 12 and football with ISU. Where do you think Iowa fan got this argument from? It is from hearing it all season long during football.

In essence you are saying ISU needs to join the Big East in football since they have won 12 conference games over the last 4 years in the Big 12. At least Iowa can go .500 in the best BB conference, whereas ISU goes .333 in arguably the 2nd or 3rd best conference in FB.

We can play in the big just fine. We finished sixth in a conference where the five teams ahead of us would compete for the championship in any conference in the country. We took them all to the last possession for the most part minus one game. We would be top three in your little jr high Mickey Mouse club that you call a conference.
