Monster game. No idea he was that fast. Hopefully continue to utilize him and the 3 TE set moving forward as that is the best we've looked on O all year against the best D we've played. Here's to continued improvement and GD not forgetting how effective the TEs were today. Go Hawks.

Agreed with all of that, except the best D part.

Ohio State's D isn't even in the same area code as Michigan state's. Talent-wise...maybe, but not in how they play.

Watching a TE fly like that reminds me of Dallas Clark.

I liked that guy. He was fun.

This is what gripes me.. we go seven games before the coaches figure out the kid can run? We have athletes (recognized by all preseason) at TE and they haven't figured out how to use them until today?

True that. Trying to forget that game. As much as I dislike OSU, I absolutely despise Dantonio and Thug State.

Yeah, this is one of my biggest gripes about the coaching staff in general.
And really as much as Miller and Lowdermilk are out of position and getting burned are there no other safeties on the roster?

I didn't think Lowdermilk played that bad. I don't understand how Miller still has a starting job.

Post game presser: "Jake Dusey played really well today. How come he hasn't played before?"
KF: "Yeah, Jakes been working really hard in practice. He took advantage of the opportunity he got today."

That means we might not see him again until someone gets hurt.

What idiot sportswriter thinks Duzey hasn't played before?

Lowdermilk gave up the long TD in the first half. Played over the top when he was in man coverage.

I generally think people on this board are over the top in the criticism of Miller, but in this case, it was 100% his man.

OSU lined up 3-wide to the D's left. All 3 go streaks. Lowery takes the widest man, Lowdermilk takes the next widest. Tanner Miller was 10 yards off the LOS at the snap, but bites huge on the play-fake. He is about 4 yards off the LOS when Braxton Miller releases the ball.

There were two receivers going deep in the right third, and a third receiver that crossed over the middle. So if we were in man, there is still a wide-open receiver because Lowery was going to have to cover two guys.

Both safeties screwed up on that play. Lowdermilk should have gone with the crosser and handed him off to Miller or King (whoever was supposed to have the outside deep third on that side, but I'm guessing Miller). But even if he'd done that, he would have been handing off to no one, because Miller bit on the play action.

He didn't just bite, he went back for seconds. He was literally five yards off the line of scrimmage when the ball was thrown.

Looks like they were in a type of zone, so I don't think Lowdermilk screwed up on that play. He is in the hip pocket of his guy who is going deep. As is Lowery. The open receiver was Miller's man.

I'm assuming they split the field into deep thirds (which is usually what Iowa does), which would give Lowdermilk the area between the hashes and Lowery to split the two guys on his side (like he failed to do effectively against NIU, but it can be done).

Maybe he did exactly what he was supposed to, but it's pretty believable that they both messed up.
