More bowl game apathy than ever before?

I don't live in state, so you guys tell me. Most apathy you have seen prior to a bowl game? How are tix sales?

I know that I will probably watch, but I am not getting a warm fuzzy feeling like I usually do.
 
I can't speak for everyone but yeah, there seems to be a lot of the "who gives a ****" going around this year.
 
I've gathered that the hawks have had pretty intense practices. I suspect the team's mind set is 180 degrees different than us fans. They may come out and just kick the s h it out of Tennesee.

Might as well be recklessly optimistic. I can handle it if they dont.

After the 1997 season was pretty apathetic.
I was at, both the 1995 and 1997 Sun Bowl, and there were 3x as many Iowa fans in 1995, as 1997.

The difference this time around is more media.
In 1998, we realized during that season, that that was probably Hayden's last yaer.
If 2015 end of being another turd, I could see Iowa breaking off Kirk.

As of yesterday Iowa has sold 4,000 of their allotted 8,000 tickets. This total includes 500 for the marching band.

Tennessee sold out their allotment rather quickly.
 
I know a few people going down to Jacksonville. They both refuse to buy tickets through UI and feel they will have no problem getting tickets on their own.

I do not think it will be quite that bad...........Enough for Barta/KF to notice remains to be seen.

I think in the end there will be a lot of hawk fans at the game, maybe 20,000 which is good considering the way the season played out
 
For me, not the normal as before around bowl season. We were talking with the family gathering... And we're all pretty big Hawk fans and some didn't even know the name of the bowl or who we were even playing. That should answer it.
 
As a fan of 35 years I can freely admit this is the least interested I have been in an Iowa bowl game - by far. The 7-5 record ... just a major disappointing season.

I think 20,000 may be a bit of a reach. If you are Barta I think the goal is 10,000+. I will admit that I have no idea what the walk-up will be like, the number of people not buying tix through the university, etc.

Another turd? We don't even know if this year will be a turd. We can still win a bowl championship don't ya know.

This is a decent game. It's kind of like the 2006 Alamo Bowl. Even when Ferentz somehow managed to finish 7-5 in 2010, there was more excitement around the bowl because we were playing a highly ranked Missourrah team. Look at the bright side, at least we're not in the Heart of Dallas Bowl playing LA Tech, like Illinois is.

I will readily admit that if we get down 14-0 early with Davis' offense looking as inept as ever, I will turn it off and check the score later. I will also turn it off if we get up 3 possessions and Davis turns on the prevent offense and we have at least two straight three and outs because then I will know we are fixin' to lose.

Something has to put in the trophy case. What does the trophy look like anyway - a bronzed 1040EZ form? A guy sifting through a box of receipts?

Not even close, everyone knew we would get worked by Cal. Plus, people assumed the calvary(Banks/Dwight) was on its way. This is different there is a good chance we can beat Tennessee and people still not give a ****

How would KF know what a trophy looks like? He doesn't have any left after this season.
