Minnesota Twins

Anybody out there excited about baseball starting this week?
Twins have a new ballpark. They split two exhibition games with the Cards Friday and Saturday. My wife and I are thinking about going up there on vacation this summer to see them play (she's a Mauer fan). Anybody else going to the new park this year?
Should we plan on at least 2 nights incase the game got rained out?

Man am I excited, this could be the year for the Twins. And yes schedule to go to two games because weather will be an issue with out a retractable roof :(

I got a walk through during the Gopher- La Tech college game a week ago. Target Field is a terrific ballbark!

I'll be up there Friday for the Lakers game. Target Center is right by Target Field, and our hotel is right across the street from both, so I will walk around the outside and check it out. I was up there the last time the Lakers played, last Feb 22, and saw the development they had done then. Anxious to see how far it has come. The Twins are my favorite AL team, but the Braves are my fav team, so I will be up in June for the Braves series. What an exciting time to be a Twins fan!

I love how the Minneapolis skyline is lit up in the distance past the outfield! And how you can see the Target Center.

Went to both games this weekend. Target Field is a beautiful facility. It absolutely went insane when Mauer hit his HR to deep center on Saturday afternoon. The food and beverage selection is great. If anyone makes the trip I suggest the "Walleye on a spike" from the state fair concession stand. Little pricey, but a good chunk of walleye is worth it.

How about the Twins travel schedule to start the season? They went from Florida to Minneapolis for 2 days to play the exhibition games, then out to Anaheim, then back to Chicago. To make things even tougher they played a night game Thursday night and didnt get to Chicago until 6 AM. Then last night the game lasts almost 4 hours and there is a noon game today. Whew! Hopefully they dont wear down and they find a way to keep those wins coming

That's a pretty tough way to start the season for sure. After they play the White Sox, they come home to play Boston, KC, and Cleveland at home, then go to KC, Detroit, and Cleveland. At 4-1, they have a good chance to have a great start to the season. If their bullpen holds together (like last night) they will be tough to beat.

Rauch makes me nervous but he has been good so far.

I'm going to the Twins Braves Series in June. Should be pretty sweet!

go twins

Hey, all you guys talkin' Twins without me? I'm pleased that so far they've shown the ability to win in different ways. With the longball and scrapping for a run here or there like last night. The addition of Hardy at shortstop has shown to be an immediate upgrade with his range and strong arm. There are going to be a lot of great double plays this season. Not to mention he's already adding pop to an already daunting lineup. Delmon Young 30 lbs. lighter is a much more productive player too.

I don't want to jinx anything with this prediction because you never know with injuries and all, but I think this could be their best team since the '87 series. Go Twins!
