Jon again patting himself on the back for picking 6-6. Congrats!

If we all lower our expectations for a program with a ton of resources ($$$, facilities), a highly paid coach with a 17 year tenure, etc then we can all be ok with 6-6 seasons because then we will all be “on schedule” with reality.

I sure wish Alvarez and his crew at WI would also lower their expectations.

Wish he was wrong....it turns out that he and those that predicted the same thing are likely right.

We can't expect better than an offense ranked in the 100s. While we may be Iowa, do we have to be so freaking boring?

I'll be OK with 6-6 if we can start scoring more than one TD a game against the likes of NW.

It's always excuses. OL is hurt (yet we hear how much depth we're building). Butler is hurt. Young at WR (every year). New QB (new QBs usually do well in KF system).

ISU is on their 3rd string QB and he's tearing it up. I like Stanley, but we don't give him enough to succeed

Last 2 seasons with Greg Davis = 20 wins. One season with Brian Ferentz = maybe 6 wins. Thanks for the upgrade!

While I don't hang this on just Brian or Kirk or whoever because, after all, execution really DOES matter, I see ZERO reason for today's loss. I just don't get it.

I am seriously ready for a QB change, if on;y to wake Stanley up. Stanley has the tools. He needs to see what's happening from a sideline perspective for a couple/few series each game. It keeps Wiegers ready, happy, well-oiled, etc., and gives Stanley the necessary perspective.

I'd prefer 5-7 to 6-6. Anything to avoid Detroit at Christmas. I'm at the point where I'd just feel bad for the marching band and other actual students who would be forced to spend the holidays in Murderville Jr..

Just cuz many predicted Iowa to be 6-6 BEFORE the season doesn't mean that's what necessarily should be acceptable for that season. It is painfully obvious to anyone who is objective that our offense could be so, so much more than what it's being allowed to be. We're in the process of telling Duggan to go look somewhere else; if he hasn't told us to move on, already.

Stanley is not the issue. Not even close.

Poor execution is the result of poor practice which is the result of poor training. Note they don't ever blame poor talent. If you have the talent but the talent doesn't execute, you have to say whoever is teaching the talent to execute is the problem.

No amount of execution or talent in the world can gain 7 yards on a halfback dive over center with 9 guys run blitzing on the other side.

6-6 is right on schedule after nearly 20 years? Pfft. I get that there are peaks and valleys, but... Pffft. Since 2009, it's been mostly average football except for one year (2015) and zero bowl wins since 2010. But hey, keep extending KF's contract out 10 years.

KF is mostly riding on what he did in the 2000's.

This is exactly right. I love the 2015 team but the schedule that year plus CJB saved KF’s job. 2015 is the exception to a program that is clearly middling at best.

Historically, Ferentz is slightly over .500 in B10 conference games.
Seems like a lot of money and tolerance for an average program.

Since 2004 other than 09 and 15. "A decade of average" was 2014.
