Miller: Marble Continues Impressive Run

I agree that teams don't intentionally give ships to players with their abilities but that doesn't mean they don't miss judge talent and end up with someone with their ability

Marble is a flat out stud. I love that kid. Bright spot on a down year.

His emergence gives hope for a possible winning or .500 record by seasons end.

agreed not all 12-13 players on scholarship end up in the pros
the NBA has 30 teams and has just 2 rounds that's 60 total yo be drafted every year
and only the 1st rd picks are guarenteed a contact
to put it simply ther over 300 division 1 teams so you are looking at a maximum of one every ten schools will have somebody drafted that will make it to the NBA
you have to have someone on the roster that have to be the glue guys
if guys like McCabe or May are those guys so be it
if guys like Brommer and Archie don't pan out, oh well
you live with it
after all not every highly rated kid will turn out to be a star
and not all low or unranked players will turn out to be duds
most players take 3-4 years before they get it some less other never do
maybe injuries play a big role in that or not
they may not just have the BB IQ for it
athletic ability is also a guantee of success it helps but a higher BB IQ helps in a big way

As a starting 5, I can buy this. But May, and particularly McCabe, do have value for this team off the bench. McCabe brings the kind of energy that is good for a team. He's a garbage man, and I think by the time he's done more people will appreciate what he brings to the team. Is he a Big Ten-quality starter? No. But he IS a Big Ten-quality role player off the bench.

The big reason McCabe currently starts, IMO, is because White also brings a lot of energy off the floor (as well as skill/production). It's a big boost to have a guy come off the bench who can go for 18 and 6.

The fact that White comes off the bench and routinely gets starter's minutes, seems to back this theory up (White had 27 minutes last night, McCabe 11 and he wasn't in deep foul trouble).

Agree on McCabe, He is playing fairly well. He has figured out how to use his body to get his shot off.

He might actually be the most improved player on the team considering how awful he was last year.

Dissagree on May, he really should be the 9th or 10th guy.

The two Marbles are different. Roy was a one of a kind...drew comparisons to Michael Jordan..one of the better slashers in the Big Ten in the last 30 years. Not a great outside shooter, but great athlete.

Here is Iowa v Indiana, CHA, from 1987. Iowa scores over 100. you are welcome ;)
