Miller: Iowa is Crazy Young...Like Youngest in the Nation

ISU is gonna stink next year, I think.

Iowa *should* be fairly salty IMO provided we see the improvement you'd expect to see from one year to the next with returning players, and contributions from newcomers.

Assuming the entire freshmen class doesn't experience a "sophomore slump"! :)

Future looks bright. If they all improve even just a little bit at the defensive end they should be a team to be reckon with for sure. The last couple games without Jok and even with him last game where he's clearly still not himself shows that they have offensive fire power. Moss is still no where near where he may end up being a year or two from now. Cooks potential is through the roof. Even Krieners going to get considerably better and hopefully consistent with more PT. Should be a fun ride the next few years.

Like they say, by the time they've reached the second half of the season, freshmen aren't really freshmen any more. Or something like that. You can really see the growth.

Overall I'm not all that disappointed in the results of this season. Those of us that are level headed knew this was going to be a rebuilding year. You want to talk about a rough rebuild look at those 2 power five teams that were younger than Iowa (WSU and Oregon St), neither team may win another game this year.

It's a lot easier to weather the storm of rebuilding when you see the progress and guys play unselfish basketball. Man, when we lost to Virginia, and the way we lost, it was hard to see this team being 500 in league play. They have a shot and if they can find some magic on the road and play with poise, well, they have the chance to shock some people. I just like that we have some shooters...who are only going to get better.

With the minutes spaced out among players, it bodes well that Iowa's players will be less exhausted as the season grinds on. MG and Woodie often experienced this drain...worn out in crunch time.

This is why I'm OK with playing our depth, especially as it seems pretty good this year.

Agree...playing depth does rest the entire team, plus.

Allows young players to develop for the final run and for next year.

Allows the entire team to be a "part" of the team, creating chemistry.

Demonstrates to the "starters" that they need to get better to play more minutes.

I am a season ticket holder and I am just absolutely having a blast watching this team. Yes, a couple of the blow outs just drive me crazy, but I can forget about them pretty quickly when I watched our guys play Nebraska last weekend.

I thought Cook's play against Nebraska on Sunday was the best minutes he has had since coming off the hand injury. That absence slowed his growth. He seemed to be more fluid on the offensive end and made fewer defensive lapses.
