Since this is a family forum I used "Radio Personalities" rather than make a derogatory remark about your mothers. Admit it, you two guys sit at the nexus of college football expansion. Here you sit in the only state that overlaps the Big Ten and the Big XII. To top it off you have Iowa State blowing in the wind and Iowa wondering what arrangement they will compete under. You have show topics for months.

I said on the air two months ago that this topic would be this year's PED witchhunt...this spring has been pretty giving with topics (two coaching changes in Iowa) and this topic is going to play out over the next seven weeks, which gets us darn near to Chicago and the Kickoff Luncheon.

We've already picked quite a bit of meat off the bone, but each day there is something new to chew on, we'll be doing it.

The months of May - July are death for sports talk radio personalities. This is when they really earn their money coming up with interesting topics. The state of college football with Iowa & Iowa St embeded in the middle of it all has really helped Jon & Steve. Like here in Chicago, where the Blackhawks run has saved sportstalk in a dead period for the Bulls,Sox and Cubs,and pre-Bear talk. Baseball is dismal this year,which just kills in a huge baseball town. Bulls have a new hire at coach and pending free agency so that is some fodder. Bears are a month away from any discussion...which leaves a niche sport in hockey...oh well,better than nothing.

Lucky for Chicago, it's in the heart of the Big 10 as well & the Big10 meetings are held there. But Chicago is a professional sports town & when both the Cubs & Sox are horrible, it's bad.
