Mike Pereira Says Calls at End of Game were CORRECT!

Mike Pereira is former head of officials in the NFL and now does work for FOX for college and NFL games as an analyst of officiating calls in games. He says both the TD ruled incomplete and the PI on the final play of the game were CORRECT calls. We as fans can discuss this all we want, but nobody knows the rules better then this guy, so the complaining can end now.

Good to know that the leading expert on officiating agrees. Definitely the right call. Whoo!!

Good, now you can post this over on the Michigan board because nobody over here is complaining about the calls or no call.

You need to re-watch his video. He never commented on the last play - the BJ Lowery play.

The big "judgment call" (as he put it) was not pass interference, offensive or defensive, and was the "absolute correct ruling" but then he goes on to say: "Element of control, did Hemmingway have control - I'm not sure he does. It's so close they stay with the call either way" You had to factor in judgment and the call on the field would have stood regardless of whether it had been called a TD or not.

I don't care if the refs missed one of our players shiving a Wolverine player, we have the W and they can't take it away.

In the article he said that it was not interference as there was not enough contact to call it as such.

Yeah you might want to read the article. It's below the video.

"And, by the way, forget the notion of pass interference on this play — either defensive or offensive. There was not enough to make either call. Same thing on the final play of the game on the slant pattern. The contact by the Iowa defender was not enough for pass interference, no matter what time of the game it was — the first quarter or the fourth quarter."

Sh!t. Had to leave at half to referee a soccer game and have been tied up until tonight. Guess I missed some interesting calls in the waning seconds. Will have to go back and watch replay.
