mike daniels

during the year i thought that daniels was merely a product of 3 nfl d-lineman around him last year. i know that he was hurt but i couldnt help thinking that all the single blocking he got last year contributed to how well he played.

i will go on record and eat crow right now. he is the real deal and will be like klug and be a steal that surprises everyone next year in the nfl if he stays healthy.

he was finally healthy against ou and they had no answer for him. they tried to double team him but he was so quick they couldnt do it. i cant help but wonder what he would have done for this defense of he had been healthy. i think everyone realizes the dl was our main weakness especially because of the strength it had been for years. i just cant help wondering how much better alvis and daniel and nardo, etc. would have been if mike had been healthy because he would have demanded double and triple team blocks. then morris and the other lbs arent having lineman on them as much.

i know this is a lot of woulda and coulda but i had to say how well he played and that he converted me. hopefully he has a great rookie year next year.

p.s. great job by interim dl coach woods because i thought it was the best game the dl played.

Always loved the intensity Daniels brings to the table. Not a whole lot of fire on the Iowa side-line but Daniels is a guy you could rely on to be ready to bring it.

He'll probably won't ever be a starter in the NFL but he should be great in a rotation early in his career. Very sudden and explosive. Got violent fast hands. Fun guy to watch when he's on his game.

Think the comparison to Klug is pretty dead on. Daniels will likely come off the middle rounds and give some team a great DT to add in their rotation.
