Midseason expectations adjustment.

I can't stand getting on here after games anymore. It's just ridiculous how some people react to losses or wins. Do we all realize that 3 of Iowa's starters are underclassman? Only top tier underclassman can lead their team to a successful season and postseason run. (Last year's Kentucky team) Adding to the problems, is that Iowa is in the best conference in college basketball. Iowa's bench consists of mostly young players and non-big ten caliber players. Iowa will have very good games against the top teams in the big ten, and they will also have their struggles (Michigan.) You will never known what you're going to get from these young players, so that's why it's so hard to predict how they are going to do. This year will only benefit the younger players by providing them with experience for next season. Next season is the one to look forward to.

Well Woody shouldn't be starting.... but sorry for my slight error. Considering the toughest part of the schedule is over with, I don't see a problem with my vote? Some people just overreact when Iowa just played 3 ranked opponents. I don't see any problem with Iowa losing their first 3 Big Ten games to better teams.

The season is still young, so I don't understand why people are so upset about Iowa losing close games to ranked opponents?
 
Why would I adjust my predictions? We saw this start to the Big Ten coming when we looked at the schedule. Well I guess most did. :p

Maybe we should of had some predictions on how big a meltdown was coming after the first 7 games of the Big Ten season.

It is a brutal start WE WILL BE FINE!!!
 
18 wins with a trip to the NIT seems reasonable. I was never on board the NCAA bubble talk because the non-conference was loaded with cupcakes and the team hadn't played any real good teams yet. Now they have. This team can play well, but there are obviously some issues(shooting/sloppiness, et al) that are causing these games to slip away. Take care of business against the lower tier of the Big Ten and find a way to pull out a game or two against the upper tier and the NIT should be calling. I'd be ok with that. Of course, I'd love to be surprised by a big run and an NCAA bid.
