Michigan

They better have 8 quarterbacks, they look good but having your QB run 20 some odd times in big ten season will get him hurt. Already got knocked out of game 1.

If Uconn had a defense and made a few less mistakes on offense, this would be a much closer game. Still, Michigan will be another pit we have to play in that could give us problems this year.

Michigan looked the exact same way last year to start the year. Im not buying into Rich Rod just yet.

BTW I just dont see why eveyone was buying into uconn.

They look like a different team. UConn is no slouch and this is a dismantling.

UConn looks no better than EIU looked today against Iowa. Their QB isnt very good, their defense is horrible, and their punter had like a 3 yard punt. Michigan's offense is good but UConn's defense looks worse than EIU looked today.

Michigan better get those back ups ready to play because in Big 10 play their QB probably isnt going to survive. If you need a reference see last year......

I think Michigan was more telling on defense... the 3-3-5 that UM ran looked like it had lots of holes

I agree. However, Uconn for whatever reason seemed unable to score. UM usually gives up a lot more points. Uconn dropped some critical passes, but they still didn't put points on the board.

UM's fate will be much more clear when they start playing b10 teams.

And Stanzi got hurt last year, and dinged already this year in running Iowa's offense. So who knows?

Nothing is a guarantee, I agree. But you are more likely to make it through a season getting five to ten good licks on you a game vs 35. Robinson is amazing..but no way can he hold up like that all year...and Michigan needs him to be that exact kind of player every game.

The O-Line for UM showed up today in a big way, Robinson only took one real hit, yes he had to come off for one play, but nothing to worry about for UM. Robinson was in such a groove, how do you take it out of his hands? UM only showed a small part of their offense today, expect it to be a little more wide open against ND.
Two plays defined Robinson today: Fake option and then a fake draw and a pass to a wide open reciever and the play that he made when they again did the fake option and he was able to set his feet and hit the reciever down the middle. Those two plays he wouldn't have made last year.
UM is headed to another level on offense with Robinson at QB.
The trouble still remains on defense, but UConn didn't take advantage of it. Yes they dropped some passes, but not all dropped passes were on 3rd down, so UConn still didn't take advantages of UM's holes. There are holes and when teams have to rely on blitzing just to get to the QB, that is scary. UM was dropping eight and there were guys running open all over.
I will stick to my prediction of UM finishing 4th in the BT, but they also have the most potential to move higher. Their offense is plain scary and is going to get nothing but better as the season moves forward. If the defense finishes somewhere in the middle of the pack in the BT statistically, watch out.

He was? You know he came in on the next series, and played into the 4th quarter, right?

If Stanzi had been "dinged" in any way, Kirk wouldn't have sent him back out after halftime.

Everyone was buying into UConn because they had so many starters back from an 8 win team.

UM did not look like this last year, the offense had total control from drive one, they carried themselves with a confidence they didn't have last year. Robinson is a guy the team believes in, unlike last year with the rotating QB's.
The defense has issues, but still only gave up 10 points and they gave up 7 to Western Michigan last year in the opener, but I think UConn is better than WMU.

One thing about this weekend in the BT, my top four teams OSU/Wisc/Iowa/UM, I didn't really learn anything in week 1 so far.
Week 2 will be more telling as each team has a little bit better opponent than the opener.
I did learn that Illinois/Minnesota/Purdue are not good football teams, unless they miraculously find some players that walk-on and can contribute this week.

UConn was terrible on offense today. I honestly think they are better than they showed offensively, but their drops and fumbles just killed them. They just didn't have it, so I'm not sure how much Michigan has improved defensively. UConn had open receivers.

Offensively, Michigan scares me. That offensive line did some damage today and controlled a pretty good front from UConn. Let's face it, UConn's front was light years better than EIU's today...and Michigan took them apart and physically abused them. I'm not sure what you can do against Robinson, other than pound him when you get the chance. In that offense, he's going to be in space or one on one with a defender and I don't care if you are Bob Sanders, that dude is going to make you miss 8-10 times in that situation. This is Rich Rod's offense at WV...with a faster QB.

That trip to the Bigger House just got alot more interesting. I have to tell you, this year is really lining up very interesting. We think our defense is great...they are going to get plenty of chances to prove it...Arizona, Michigan, Wisky, and Ohio State.

mich wisk and osu all has success running on us last year, and they returned most of their lines, also people like to point out that the michigan game last year wouldn't of been as close without the pick 6 but they turned the ball over 4-5 times and barely lost. wisky ran all over us early, the offense only got stopped once clay got his ankle torqued and we knocked there te out of the game.

as much as i'd obviously love to see iowa run the table this year. 8-4 or 9-3 will not surprise me one bit.
