Michigan vs Iowa official game thread

I thought Dix was just a shooter…I was impressed with his handle last night. He is a combo guard which I didn’t know until last night.

Fran went with Dix and Peyton vs Tony or Ulis down the stretch. Fran weirdly hasn’t shown his full hand yet and I’m at least intrigued. With Pat going out, it’s forced him to have to evaluate everything
And he was right to do so. Fran needs to get way more credit for his coaching then he does. He doesn't have a problem making changes. He feels the flow of the game and can tell who is and isn't playing well.

TP has struggled lately. He's letting his struggles on O affect his D. That's going to land him on the bench more for sure. Good thing Dix was up to the task because they needed him to be. He played great.

Just wondering out of curiosity...

Do you talk the way you type your posts? Honestly curious.

You combine lack of definite and indefinite articles and Yoda's speech syntax (object/subject/verb vs. the standard subject/verb/object) with a consistency I've never seen before. Add to that a gallon or two of Rolling Rock and some random capitalization and non-sequiturs, and you've got yourself a regular old party.

To be honest, you might want to start documenting some of this stuff and trademark it. You never know when someone might pick it up and make it go viral on social media.
Good thoughts. Failed English 1 in college. Had to go to "summer" school. Well lived up to my other name! IOWA SURFER... Go Hawks. Players tough. But "need" Defense always improving.. All fans waay cool Always Bert

For 37 minutes or so our defense wasn't very good. The last 3 minutes CMac finally tried to deny the ball to Jet. I'm not sure what took so long to figure that out. I apologize to Sandfort for renaming him in the past. He was on fire when it counted. Perkins has lost any mojo if had any in the first place. I was at the game and Perky was upset when Fran blew a gasket and benched him for poor rotation on the zone. How in the hell do you not recognize who is on fire for Michigan? Final thought...it is difficult for any team to shoot lights out for an entire game. Michigan went cold in the last few minutes and OT. Solid win.
Perkins has always played with a chip on his shoulder, which has made him better, but right now the chip seems to be against the coaching. He has thrown way too many lazy passes and he didn't even try to hustle back after making the bad pass to Connor. The second he saw the M player make a play on the ball he should have been running. I don't like this combination of attitude and sloppy play, and I think Fran is getting sick of it.

Great effort and win but you must hold serve at home and we did. Getting too excited about this win can be an overreaction of us all with so many road games left and already lost the 2 easiest ones on the schedule. On to sunday.
I'm just glad to be able to get excited about Iowa Basketball again even though like you said, they were just holding serve. But man, it's a start. Every game will be a dog fight of that I'm sure.

I was at the game and I kept saying, there is no way Michigan stays this hot for the entire game. It took longer than I thought but I agree, they were cold at the end. When overtime hit I think their legs were gone for those outside shots.

Everyone is down on Perkins and Ulis with both having less than stellar games last night. I get it, you're no better than your last game. But I believe both will be valuable contributors over the rest of the season. Tony was great at the end of the year last year. Right now, he is stuck in a slump like Sandfort was, he'll come out of it. Ulis will also help us win games with his solid play.
Ulis is strictly a defensive back up bench player. He is very valuable in this role. Hopefully Perkins gets his swagger back and stops throwing the ball away. He is really better as an off-guard. He needs to concentrate on D, rebounding, and pushing the ball on the break.

I agree with you, good points. I think Ulis can score in spots (he was 2 of 5 last night, 6 points). We don't need him to score a ton but he needs to distribute and play good defense. Agree with you on TP and he has also shown in the past that he can be a scorer and I think he will again before the season is over.

Damn that was fun to watch! I was busy last night but recorded the game. Although at half time I couldn’t resist and checked out the final score. I had to do a double take on that score with two minutes left in regular time. I figured the website I used must have inverted the score. Nope.

Dix is looking good, Sandfort’s last three games seems to indicate he is out of his slump, and even Mulvey looks like he is toughening up.

Keep the Mo rolling!!!

Heard he is coming back from injury. If he recovers, and plays like earlier in year. Huge help.
