Michigan State: 2010 Outright Big Ten Champions

If tOSU's wins are vacated, Michigan State is the outright Big Ten Champion from 2010. With them out of the picture, the tiebreaker automatically goes to Michigan State who beat Wisconsin 34-24 in East Lansing. Interesting to think about, even though nothing will be done, even if wins are vacated.

Wins ought to be taken away. I don't care if the NCAA needs to go back 3 years, it ought to be done to set an example to other programs cheating will not be tolerated.

Even if wins are taken away, they don't get awarded to other teams. MSU and Wisky will still be coB10 champs or whatever they were.

Even if OSU went 6-2 last year MSU would not be outright champs. MSU's win over Wisconsin would have put them in the Rose Bowl, but it would not have made them outright champs. It would still be a shared title.

This is correct.

This is correct, even if OSU has to vacate wins it doesn't mean Wisconsin has to take their win over OSU away and put 6-1 in the record books. Both still end up 7-1 but MSU gets the Rose Bowl instead of the Cap One.

I'm not surprised the OP can't figure this out, he is a Clone fan and talking about how tie breakers work for conference championships is all foreign to them.

What about the year before? Or several years leading up to? What are we owed? 1 outright and 1 shared?

I guess Iowa would have a legit argument that they should be named outright champs for the 2009/10 season then. I mean we did get beat in OT by a team with several players that should have not been on the field.

It would of been nice to go to the Rose Bowl, but I guess we will settle for that good looking Orange Bowl trophy, instead of getting beat by 40+ in the Capital One Bowl :)

As others have stated, MSU would NOT be outright champs, as they did not play and lose to tOSU. MSU and Wisconsin would still be 7-1 in conference.
