You cannot be serious questioning Michigan's out of conference games. 2017 Florida Cincinnati and Air Force
2018 Notre Dame SMU and Western Michigan 2019 MT State Army and Notre Dame
2020- Washington Ball State and Virginia Tech
with UCLA Texas and Oklahoma also in the 2020's

Hawks beat them. If we had any 4 or 5 star we wanted, I am sure we would have a similar schedule.

The irony of all of this is, we just had a spring game where most insinuated our QBs kinda stink and offense looked not so good 15 practices in, but yeah we should play LSU in Death Valley in game 1 or 2 of a season! I don't like our odds. Give me all 4 and 5 stars starting out and I like our odds a lot more. Iowa is not Michigan. Maybe mid to end of season we are getting up there, but not game 1 or 2 of year.

I would rather lose to LSU, or Notre Dame........than struggle and squeeze out a win, or in North Dakota State's case, lose to a nobody. What fan gives a rat's ass about Middle Tenn St?

Sounds like you want to schedule like MTSU!! take on the big boys and get your pay day and likely a rear end kicking at the same time. Did we look ready to play LSU in game 1 or 2 based on spring ball? But yeah a loss would sit better with everyone, rather than using it to get the new guys ready for league play. TV money rules now and Big ten is equal share so what some fans say about a single game is not going to mean a whole lot.

I have more confidence in the Hawks, I think they can compete with those guys. I don't think that we were any worse in this year's spring game than we were last year. I see you belong to the; "woe is me, we're just little ole' Iowa club".
