He failed to have his team make a foul at end of regulation then doesn't set up some sort of press either!!! Then in OT he has Gatens go for TWO when we needed THREE??!!!

He got outcoached! He is clueless come crunch time!

Also should be clear to him he needs to recruit and GET a game-changer (like Harris/Simms)!!!

Getting sick of "moral victories"! IT'S YEAR THREE!

Tough loss too because team played great especially Payne, Fuller and Gatens! Feel like Lick took this game away from them!

Yeah, I caught in the huddle before Cullys free throws he clearly said "I'm only going to make you put one of these in that should be good".

Aaron Fuller also wants to know why his 30 points and 13 rebounds don't qualify as game changing.
 
Gatens made the choice to take the drive.. highly doubt Lick said go for the layup. Gatens took the drive because it was easy and Michigan gave it to him... they gave it to him for a reason.

I put this on the players... they are the ones who didn't perform.

And your example of not fouling at the end of regulation.. how dare Lick have faith that his team who has played excellent defense, play solid defense for one last possession!!!! AWFUL COACHING TO HAVE FAITH IN YOUR PLAYERS!!!

Seriously... I have been on the fence of whether to keep lick or not... and this was the players not taking a stand and saying NO MORE! At some point they need to believe that they are going to pull this off and stop making the "young mistakes".
 
You are dumb. Foul with 13 seconds left? That's a terrible idea. Sims shot that ball with 8 seconds left. That's too much time left and we weren't in position to foul at that point. 6 seconds or so and you can foul a guy without risking free throws, yes do it. Too many calls went Sims way down the stretch. Back to back 3 point plays on questionable at best calls. This one hurts, but to put blame squarely on the coach is dumb. Payne and Fuller each missed critical free throws down the stretch.

ya cuz that was designed perfect shot to tie the game and send it into overtime

was a prayer of a shot that went in and they got the edge late in the ot-

i aint defending Lick- just sayin

If you foul Novak, you put a guy who is basically a one-trick pony on the line. If he makes them both, you're back at your end shooting two with a one point lead.

And we were clutch in the ft department tonight... If we had been making ft's... maybe.. but even Fuller missed some big ones. Why chance Michigan getting the ball back and having a chance to beat us in regulation?? Make them take one shot to tie or lose.

No not dumb! Thanks though Mrs. Lickliter. You foul BEFORE they get the shot off!! Not immediately when they throw the ball in! Make them shoot FTs instead of hitting a game changing three when the opposing team has TWO freaking stars and another three-ball machine! If not that then at least get some pressure on the ball to slow them down!

That call with Matt looked set-up to me. There were guys setting screens for him. Maybe he was told to drive it to the whole in hopes of a foul? I don't know but should have never come down to that anyway!
 
No, you are still dumb. The only time Iowa could have reasonably fouled after the ball was past half court was still with 10 seconds left. No coach would foul with that much time left. Sims is a 31% three point shooter. You want him shooting that shot. He got lucky and it went down. Tough break.
 
What gets me down is that Fuller scores 30, Gatens has 21, and we STILL lose. At home. To a 12-12 team. Sigh....

Sorry pal, when you have our talent, Eddie Hightower reffing the game, guys missing some FTs down the stretch and a miracle 3 pointer in the waning seconds, I don't know of anything the coach can do to win the game. Them's the breaks.
 
You should be fired as a fan. Seriously the foul being up 3 rule isn't exactly something every coach agrees with. Biggest problem was not getting it to a better free throw shooter. Cully has gotta get his free throw percentage up. I didn't hate Gatens going for two, they had just went 50 percent on the last free throw attempt. He makes that lay up and Cully's three puts us in the 2nd OT. Did you catch that?

So could you make better decisons if you were sitting on the bench? It's damn easy to sit in your home and think of what shoulda, woulda, coulda. I get your upset but running to the computer and posting crap isn't the answer. Step back and look at the smaller things the players could have done or maybe getting a call by the refs would help to.

ya because the coach we had before him was great down the stretch- we never blew leads or lost games-

i aint trying to defend Lick, i really aint- same problems team had 4 or 5 years ago are same problems now-

guess im just hoping for the best cuz we all know that minus another huge set of transfers this is our coach(if key key players transfer again then i am all for time-2-move on) but if not and what we got and what is coming in- there is room for hope-

atleast i got to hope that is all i meant by nething i've said :)
