Micha Hyde Draft Stock Plummeting

He will play safety in the NFL just like every other DB that has made it to the NFL from Iowa. He will be fine if he is a mid, late, or FA pick.

When has Hyde had ball hawking skills? Im sorry, I just dont understand they hype about Micah Hyde.
They are talking about what he did returning picks. (they should use big play ability not ball hawking) Example: when sash picked it and flipped it to Hyde against MSU.

He made one good play against Missouri last year and the crowning of the next Tyler Sash began.
He is terrible; always out of position, looks lost most of the time and obviously not intelligent.

His stock was going down WAY before his arrest.

Hydes hype was mostly based on those two big returns. he's never been a great corner. even Iowa tried to move him to safety.

FRom article:

Going into this season, I had Hyde as an early to mid-round selection, but with his on and off the field struggles, Hyde is looking at a late round selection. He definitely needs to make those exciting ball hawking type plays like he did last year to impress NFL scouts.

Who is this guy? Is he truly an expert or is this just some kinda fantasy football for the draft ?

No kidding. I cannot count (using all my fingers and thumbs) how many time Micah has been burnt by being out of position this year. Seems to get lost in coverage more often than not.

I've got no clue about the authors qualifications but anyone who had Hyde in the first 60 picks hadn't seen enough film of him and must have seen only highlights. I have never thought of him as more than a mid round(3rd-4th-5th) prospect. He's similar to Spievey but hasn't been quite as consistent and Hyde hasn't been as good in run support as Spievey was either. Spievey's physical tackling in college gives him a leg up on Hyde in terms of being more confident about shifting him to safety.

And personally, I don't see what his arrest has to do with his stock falling. I think he's a pretty good college corner, but not NFL-caliber. I'd say that scouts coming to that realization has everything to do with this. Public intox is not a stock plummeting offense. Give me a break.

I don't see how a PI can drop someone's draft stock...my guess is "off the field problems" referred to his inability to shake pursuing ICPD...

Look, I have also been hard on the lad, and hopefully he WILL learn his lesson... Is his personal stock going down the drain? Lets see how he finishes the season... One MORE drunken "bad weekend" to quote Capt. Kirk, and this kid can kiss any future NFL contract goodbye...
("Lost Weekend" reference may confuse some 'younger' folks...)

So he's like Spievey, but he's not? Which is it? Spievey was much better than Hyde.

Agreed that Spievey was a much better college CB than Hyde. I think the big loss for 2010 was Spievey, not Bulaga. He could have been an elite corner that year, and could have been the difference in many of that year's close losses.

I think the arrest, while not a big deal, can sometimes make or break a marginal or late-round pick such as Hyde. At worst, he'll be a free agent in camp with a chance to make a team.

Sorry with the exception of Fletcher that is a back up corner and Nickel back with the Rams.
Well as a Rams fan I can tell you that the way you make him sound is not a proper representation of how Rams fans view him. He has started every year except this year and the only reason he didn't start this year is because he wasn't 100%. And that "backup" corner sealed the game with an interception at the end of the game last Thursday.
