Memorable Season So Far!

So I was just sitting here at work thinking about all the people that said at the beginning of the season that we had no chance at making the dance this year. And here we are talking about it! Hey I know its just talk but its still possible. This has been a season of many ups and downs, but were on an "up" at the end of the season which is all you can ask for. This team has perservered through the rough patches and continues to play hard. This is Fran and staffs second year with the program, a program that was pretty embarrasing, and were talking about the Dance - WOW! I hope people are realizing what an enormous accomplishment this is. The great thing, in my opinion, is that it is really hard to pin point one person on this team that is responsible. Everyone has had there moments player wise throughout the season, Marble, McCabe, White, Basabe and Matty Fresh (When we needed them most), but what this Staff has done is really remarkable as well, It shows a complete team effort. I couldnt be more proud of this team, not because we might go dancing, but for fighting back in true Hawkeye fashion when your beat down. They got back on their feet and are throwing blows back. Its a season I will never forget!!!

couldn't agree more. so nice to look forward to watching basketball again. I was at carver last nite and the atmosphere and the students were awesome. it makes it even more exciting to think even bigger things are in store for Hawkeye basketball!

There have been some disappointing losses. But for each of those, there's been a great win. And I don't mind that balance at all. It shows that while they're still inconsistent and searching for their team identity a bit... when things come together, they can play with anybody.

Fran's plan is on track. He's building a foundation, the players are learning his style and a great influx of talent is coming this fall. What I love most...is that when we beat teams like Wisconsin or Michigan or Indiana...they look like they have no clue how they just lost.
