Memo to the apologists

... and this incudes you Leisitkow.

"Lack of execution" is on the coaches. Especially when it happens repeatedly. The players aren't perfect. No team's are. Your margin of error shouldn't be so thin coach.

Our coaches either aren't coaching up the guys, or they need to recruit better players.

Coaches get fired all the time. Do we ever hear, "We had to let Charlie go because his players weren't executing". ?? Hell No. The coach just wasnt getting it done. Wasn't meeting expectations.

I know, we have very modest expectations here per Barta so not really relevant.

But can we just stop making excuses for the head coach please?

Captain Nepotism is the only one responsible at this point. And always has been. Buck stops there. HE needs to start executing.

They ALL need to be let go....f*cking poor display and I had to listen to it on the radio. I cant even imagine for those of you watching it how poorly they performed.

It was so boring and poorly run that is was almost unwatchable. FKF is just going through the motions and his staff is a reflection of this.
The great line from Remember the Titans "Attitude reflects leadership."

This is why Iowa is what they are year in and year out. Some years FKF feels some pressure and he nuts up and coaches. And the asst. coaches and players respond. Otherwise, FKF just writes his grocery list on his note pads during games and counts his money. And everyone responds.

during the game against NW, the sideline reporter said she over-heard an Iowa lineman talking to other players and he was telling them to wake up, like they were all asleep. This was in the 2nd half of the game. This is so Iowa under Ferentz, his teams almost always seem to be like zombies out on the field.

KF is open to criticism and after yesterday's performance that is fair, but to suggest that he is just going through the motions and only nutting up and coaching when there is a little pressure on him is laughable. While I understand your frustration, those comments are just stupid. Using your logic if KF had nutted up against PSU and not been just going through the motions Iowa would have won that game. If only the players hadn't been just going through the motions that game and been fired up. Damn their attitude reflecting their leadership. Imagine what a fired up Jewell could have done that game.

That game set football back 30 years. I didn’t see any of the Texas/Okie St. game, but it couldn’t have been as brutal to watch as this game.

I came home late from work one evening and seen my dog had shit on the floor. You know how I knew? It looked like shit, smelled like shit, so my guess was it is shit! Moral of the story is after several years we Hawk fans know what the problems are and don't give me talent crap because every loss this year could of easily been a win but those kids were let down by their COACHES!

I disagree that KF and staff are simply going thru the motions. They are imo working hard. They have limitations though and some stubborness, like most of us.

Low offensive output is the norm for this program and KF tends to point to level of players his program gets and execution of fundamentals always.

Doesn't seem to ever question offensive philosophy or game plan. Would make one think that he considers theirs perfect and unquestionable.

Until you can first admit you have a problem there is little chance that it will begin to improve. Guess we'll get what we've always gotten, the results of continued practice and improved execution.

Unless BF can move away from what is hard to move away from, turning out just like your dad. I'll admit he could sure do alot worse than that. Was just hoping for a difference in this one area...........

That is just our case against KF! If he can coach them up to play those games then you tell us how yesterday's cluster f**ks happen and all to often!

Odds we hear this week..."Maybe the game has passed me by...I plan to have some deep discussions with leadership and family at the end of the year."

So the logic is that KF "coaches the team up" some games but chooses not to the other games?
No that would be illogical, but I'm listening for you to tell me how you beat Michigan last year, hang with the #2 team and lose by inches and the make full competitive games with NW, the first half of Ill and North Texas? I don't see the better teams of the big do that as often as us. They usually piss pound the bottom feeders.

Iowa rarely piss pounds anyone unfortunately. I get your frustration I just don't buy that KF is going through the motions or only coaches teams up when he has pressure on him to perform. I was in the fire KF camp until the 2015 season. After that season I realized that KF has a contract at Iowa as long as he wants to coach at Iowa.

The things he brought to Iowa in his early years he has regressed on. Strong speacial teams, fundemently strong O-line play. I know he is a coach not lose guy but those are the things we needed to win with and they are not a strong point right now and speacial teams has been a joke since the infamous Wisconsin choke game!

Matt Campbell is about to expose that as a lie over these next two years.

Iowa can’t recruit the skilled players that ISU pulls in every year. Too hard to get talent like that to Iowa City versus Ames
