Melsahn is a daddy today

I don't know Basabe, and I hope everything works out for the mother, her child, and Basabe. There are lots of people that talk the talk but will never walk the walk. Talk is pretty cheap.

I don't claim to know Melsahn well, but he's always come off as a very good guy. Quirky, sure. But never a jerk.

I forget the player for Ohio State last season (I want to say his name was DeSean), but didn't he have two kids? It can be done.

The question is not whether Melsahn or DeSean can continue to be effective basketball players after becoming fathers. The question is do they have the emotional and financial stability to spend the next 20 years successfully raising a child who will become a responsible and productive adult. I really hope it turns out well but they are fighting the odds.
