Please show me on the donation form where as part of that donation, you are entitled to specific information about the program.

That's what I thought.

You somehow feel that because you make a donation that they are obligated to provide you some specific level of information about the program? Nope.

Make a donation or don't, that's your choice, but it doesn't provide you with a right to some specific information.

I agree with the above. The next thing you know is that your going to get someone that donates large money to the university saying that they deserve to know what the game plan is going to be on a given week because of their donation.

I don't think knowing that our coaches aren't putting the players in danger through the offseason workouts is asking a whole helluva lot. You would think you could assume that they aren't. But 13 players in the hospital after one workout seems to call that assumption into question a little bit.

Once again, can ANYONE confirm that ALL 13 players were admitted for the same kidney reason?

If not, players who are dehydrated would be admitted for several days to be, at the very least, monitored. But, most just want to assume the worse and make this out to be a careless oversight that injured players. I don't think ANYONE knows enough about this to make assumptions of any kind.

As Jon wrote so eloquently, Kirk Ferentz has earned the benefit of the doubt. Also, did you not see the article on the 7 swimmers, yes swimmers, that this happened to?

This is actually one issue where answers need to be given. Now I understand that all the answers may not be readily available even to the university. But the public DO need to know what happened here. 13 players are/were in the hospital, and it needs to be known why they ended up there.

Has the media gone over the top in their language/conclusions? Yes, in many cases. But don't fault them for wanting to know. Because this actually is a case where people need to know what happened.

The only people who need to know what happened are the parents players, the coaches responsible, people within the athletic department (Kirk, Barta, etc), and the folks who run the school.

I don't need to know. You don't need to know. Bombthrowers and blowhards like Matt Perrault and Marty Tirell don't need to know. Wanting to know and needing to know are two different things.

and from what we know.....those parties are the ones that "know".

What about future recruits? They're part of the public at this point. I'm sure they might like to have the answers on this. That might be kind of important information for them.

The only thing they'd need to know is probably related to the workouts. It's been said time and time again by multiple sources that this particular workout has been done for years.
