McNutt was about 3 feet away from becoming a major

That is what I said....ESPN almost was put in a situation where they needed to lawyer up....unbelievable. They would have been liable for a LOT of damages if that thing would have hit Mcnutt...did you see how fast it came down?

Exactly - the weight is an issue but the speed was crazy.

This. When I first saw McNutt kind of dancing around, it didn't look all that bad. But when you see the full replay and see just how fast it came down, and just how close it came to hitting McNutt at full speed, it's pretty scary.

It really didn't seem like that big of a deal to me. It was coming down slow and would have been no more than a big nudge. I'm sure he's taken bigger hits in his career than that would have caused. It was unexpected.

Have you ever seen the movie Ghost Ship?

I though if something like that happened, they would have just called the game a tie and let us have our dignity.

I thought of the same thing. :D Kind of gruesome if you choose to watch.

You realize the look from a wide angle was in slow mo, right?

I had turned off the TV and didn't even see this. OMG that was crazy. Yea his knees could of gotten jacked but the initially when the camera hit the field it was only 6 or 7 feet left of McNutt. Wow. Ok got a clip and made from pics for you guys.

That last sentence is the biggest problem with your argument in the preceding sentences.

As a football player, you know you can get hit at any time and you've trained all your life to deal with that. You expect to get hit, you're prepared for it every time the ball is snapped.

But you don't expect a camera to drop on your head, and that is a Grand Canyon of difference from preparing to be hit by another player.

I have never seen anything like that, but the dumbest thing honestly was when they were moving the camera off the field none of the people/players on the sideline moved. I mean seriously how dumb can you be to see a cable pulling a camera coming at you and just stand there. ESPN and crew didnt do a very good job of cleaning up their pathetic mess.

The cam coming down reminded me of those Buffalo Wild Wings commercials where they want to send the game into overtime.

To be honest though, they can't possibly have been expecting something like that to happen at this point. Maybe when it was a new and innovative concept, but not after it's been around for nearly a decade.

McDonough (sp?) was probably right when he asked how long it'll be before ESPN has "Skycam SWAT teams" on standby.

LOL! Too funny.

Let's rig one up and drop one on you, and we will see what kind of nudge it would be... ;)
