The angle of the camera lets you really see how smart this play is. McNutt sits down in his route with the LB behind him...and the ref directly to the LB's left. When McNutt continues his route he uses ref to "rub" the LB.
ISU was playing man-free coverage on the big pass play crossing routes later; these plays also are "rub" routes as the receivers cross by one another.
KOK and the offense used these rub routes to perfection today.
