McNutt Released From Eagles

McNutt will never make it in the NFL. He is too easy to jam at WR to ever be a starter, and his special teams tape reel has this on it.

Moeaki is with the Bills, hurt with a hamstring injury. It's too bad he can't stay healthy, I believe he was the most athletically gifted TE Iowa has had under Ferentz.

Tight ends are definitely skill position players, especially in today's NFL. But QB's, running backs and wideouts have definitely been few and far between.

I agree tight ends should be considered a skilled position. In fact, you could make the case it requires more skill to play TE than WR. A TE needs to be able to block a 300 lb. DE or 240 lb. linebacker and also get down field to catch passes. Most WRs have trouble blocking DBs and won't think about taking on a DE or LB.

Brandon Myers is still in the NFL, signed a deal with the Bucs

Also, generally D-backs are considered "skill positions." Iowa has a few of those in the NFL still...Prater, Micah Hyde, etc

The Eagles are stupid. The Bears should sign him as the 3rd receiver. What a great trio that woukd be for the next Super Bowl Champions.

I loved MM playing for the Hawks and even said Hi to his family at a bowl game. But if I'm honest, his performance in Philadelphia strongly supported the proposition he was not NFL material.

Sucks to hear about McNutt. I agree with Hawknick that I think he'd fit in with the Bears. As far as I know Moeaki and Chandler are still with the Bills. I believe Myers is with the Bucs. Reisner is with the Vikings, Stanzi is still with the Jags although he's in a roster battle with Stephen Morris from Miami. Stanzi hasn't played the last two weeks and Greene is still with the Titans. Hopefully they all stick.

Stanzi and Morris played every other preseason game. And he did go in last week. He threw two picks but I didn't see the gm so not sure he was at fault. They'll probably play both next week before cutting one of them.

I wonder what Mcnutt will do now? Do you go the Kasper route and keep trying to stick on a roster or do you just move on to the next phase of your life?

Carolina's receiving corp. is pretty weak the fact he couldn't stick there is not a good sign.
