How many on here think he will get this at all costs. I for one hope so as it should mean he had a heck of a day. But somewhere in the back of Ferentz mind you know he so badly wants him to get it so DJK is off the books forever. I have a feeling A LOT of passes are going to go his way. I just hope they end up in tje right color jersey.

Maybe I am naive, but I really don't think KF cares that much about McNutt beating DJK's record. With that said, because Coker is out, we will probably see some bubble screens to Marvin, and we may throw more than usual, so he's got a chance to catch 8 against a subpar OU secondary.

Well even if McNutt passes him, DJK isn't going to be off the books forever. He will be in the books for a very long time.

This. I do think KF does want McNutt to break all of DJK's records, but to say "at all costs" would suggest that even if it were detrimental to the team's chances of victory, we would keep going to McNutt.
Kirk Ferentz won't be doing THAT. I'm sure he wants McNutt to get it. But he won't jeopardize the team's chance at winning over a couple records.
