Have you ever listened to questions reporters ask before, after or during the games. It's like, what do you expect them to say. My brother was in sports journalism, and worked for the Daily Iowan for a year when at Iowa. he said that when he had to interview people he was given a lot of questions he had to ask. he said he felt like an idiot and sometimes people would actually laugh at him when he asked the questions. he changed majors.

Minor surgery (for that & the thumb)...just minor stuff you play with then get cleaned up after the season.

What was interesting about his comments? He was simply showing support for and respect for a teammates skills. To read anymore into it than that would be reading something that's not there. Had he said the opposite of what he did than you have an interesting comment.

I know how working for a college newspaper for 365 days really gives you a great perspective on how it's done. It is apparent that based on his changing of majors that your brother is far smarter than his prole editors. He figured this out and that the morons at the DI who made him ask questions are certainly onto very lucrative careers at the Anamosa Times Picayune.

That question was pure moronic comedy. Are you hoping to get drafted is basically what they asked a guy who was almost ready to forgo his senior season?

How about this question. Marvin, you obviously felt like you had something to prove for you to come back since you can always come back and get your degree. What caused you to not be satisfied enough to leave for the NFL? Your draft projection or the disappointment of last years season, and what round do you think you can play up to this year?

No need to be a jerk Boss. And as for your questions - not much better. 'Obviously felt?' You don't know that, you don't want to imbed your own assumptions into your questions, this applies to your second question as well - does a player have to be satisfied in order to leave? Isn't money alone enough of a motivator, or fear of injury or a number of other reasons? Both draft projection and a disappointing season are good reasons to stay but why pigeon hole him to those two choices? I say leave the question open enough to let him speak to all aspects of it. I would scratch your series of rambling questions and simply ask, What factors played a role in shaping your decision to stay for your senior campaign?

And the 'what round can you play up to' question is just a softball begging for a humorous quip. Maybe reword that to, Preseason prognasticators have put you as one of the top WR in the conference, what do you feel needs to happen this year to be considered one of the best in the country? This question makes him give a more in depth answer, with your he could get away with a quip or a simple, short answer.

Not saying my questions are professional by any means, but there's no reason for you to scoff at another poster when you can't do much better.
