McNabb to Vikings going down today?

Gave up 1 6th rounder and another 6th the following year if he makes the team next year.

We've got some contract issues coming up in the following year. Greenway and AP both need to get new contract.

Not a bad trade at all in what they gave up. And I don't see AP leaving, but maybe testing the waters. Same with Greenway. But anything can happen in the upcoming year. There's a lot of good free agents coming up next year and I see AP as being one of the top targets for most teams and Greenway could very easily become one of them. Also I'd bet on both guys have great years this year.

No way AP goes anywhere. He has been nothing but cooperative with the Vikings and he wants to stay in Minnesota and vice versa. Once the new CBA is in place, the Vikings will extend his contract.

So let me get this straight 2 years of Favre, followed by a few years of McNabb. Who's next on the aging list of QBs that they need to bring in? I'm a fan of stability and honestly I don't think you get that by signing washed up QBs who are a long ways past their prime for a few years of mop up duty. Give the younger guys a chance or bring in younger guys who will actually stick it out for the long haul.

They drafted a QB in the first round this year.

I get that, but what guarantees he will see the field. First it was let's bring in Favre, then it's lets bring in McNabb, who's the next superstar on their brief stop in Minnesota to close out a career.
