McD vs Robles

I have watched Robles wrestle very little. Do any of you experts have an idea what Steele's strategy will be? Maybe they should tie Metcalf's foot to his thigh and let Matt practice with him.

Stay low like the kid from Utah Valley did.

I have no idea how Matts going to score on him.

He has the strength of a 141 with with one less leg to attack. Its going to be very difficult.

More like a 49 lber at least. I see it more as an advantage for him. Very hard to score on him from the feet and he over powers you from the top because of his upper body size. Tough match up...Too bad ESPN has a love affair with him...they do know Matt is the defending champ right? Who do they have working for them?

I have not seen a whole lot of Robles' matches and I know that if it was this easy someone would have done it by now. With that said how would a strategy of staying low like Kjar did but trying to create an angle and making it look like you're attacking his leg? I think the straight approach Kjar took was the bad route as Robles has incredible strength and will control the ties. Plus Robles' does have very fluid hips and is very quick regardless of his disability.

I just think that attacking his leg at an angle with McD's pace would create opportunity considering it would be hard for Robles to keep that pace or get him out of position. Also if Robles is seen as constantly moving to the side and backwards, he could get hit with stalling, but would the refs call stalling on a disabled wrestler on ESPN with the world watching?

Honestly, being serious, not being a jerk, but keep running him out of bounds as much as you can, and make him hop back to the middle. It seemed to tire him out a little bit.

No, there will be no stalling calls and be prepared for a total freakin' lovefest from ESPN. And yeah, that upper body is at least a 149 lber.

No wrestlers have ever been as hated as the Brands bros by the general wrestling community.... Until McD beats poster child Robles and gives a little flex to the crowd.

The Robles story is just as good when you say he made it to the finals, when he ran into a much superior wrestler.

mcd needs to watch how patterson wrestled him because if theres more time in that robles wouldn't be in the finals..mcd watch that match!

i'll never forget being worried bout wrestling andy rousch from wilton because you don't practice for it. having one leg is NOT an advantage the only reason why it seems like that is because its a completely different style of wrestling or others to step into that have wrestling normal since they were in kindergarten.

My prediction MCD wins almost by a major!

Wow Pin thats a statement right there! I hope you are right.

What did Patterson do that was so successful? Try to wear him out?

pin, my cousin wrestled Andy twice and the best way to wrestle Andy was make him work! He was very dangerous with his cradle! I honestly feel that's how you attack Robles! By the way my cousin was 1-1 with Andy!

That is nearly impossible because of the way Robles sits on top of his leg. There literally is nothing to grab except his upper body. I'm not sure how Long beat Robles last year but that is the match I would watch in preparation.

Long beat him last year to get to McD and he got on top and rode him. Robles' weakness is getting out from underneath. He's a beast on top. I think McD will figure him out. I'm really worried about the match but not as much as Precin. Precin had the formula to beat McD and was always dangerously close to him. I think Matt will be ready.

I'm super-stoked because, I believe, if Matt gets by this he will be in fantastic shape to shoot for the third 4-time-champ. The 125 class gets heavily cleared out after this year and I actually think Matt will be better while the field will not.

GO HAWKS

p.s. Root for Dake to lose and McD to win... I believe if that happens, we get 2nd place

McD will be ESPN's most hated person in the world if he knocks off Robles. I'm perfectly ok with that, and I have a feeling McD feels the same way.
