McCaffrey is a very interesting player

I know it is only one game (tonight will tell us a lot), but I really like McCaffrey at the point and Bohannon at the off guard.

McC is a big guard. He uses his size to penetrate. He passes well. He has that "attitude" that has been missing. I think he is a decent shooter. His length allows him to defend.

I really hope we see him at the point and Bohannon at the off guard more often. I think Moss is ok, but I'd bring him off the bench.

I was lower on him than most but he’s impressed me so far. Of our guards he’s probably the only one who prefers to play in the half court and that helps us.

My favorite play last night from his was one almost nobody will probably remember. Iowa was in zone and Oregon had overloaded one side. They took a corner jump shot that missed but had a guy on the opposite waiting for an offensive board and easy put back. Connor crashed down hard and put his shoulder right into the guy competing for the rebound. Connor was rightfully called for a foul but the play saved a basket in my mind. Last years team would have let the guy rebound it and put it back in for two, I liked the physicality, especially from a role player.

Getting kinda tired of this word being used, as if it's any advantage at all.
That said, I like Connor too.

To be fair, length is the most important physical attribute in basketball, far more important than height.

CM is a great addition to this years team. Smart, composed, and he guards. The smartest basketball player on the team, and dare I say the smartest McCaffrey..

Wingspan and reaching height are the most important length related attributes. Height itself is pretty irrelevant as it's how high and wide one can reach that creates mismatches.

Connor's size definitely helps him to see and feed the passing lanes over smaller players. The key is to have the smarts to know what to do with the ball and how to feed the passing lane. Thus far he has done a pretty darn good job. I was also really impressed with how calmly he handled the press against Oregon. Not something easy to do for a seasoned vet yet a lone for a guy that hasn't played live minutes against top power conference competition.

After watching the last 2 games, it looks like CMac was a legit top 100 player. His passing is as advertised. He gets in the lane and bc of his size and passing ability, he has options once he is there and makes the right decision. Many inuding myself were skeptical assuming the ranking was inflated bc of his last name. That does not appear to be the case. I also see why FM didn't reach for a pg in the 2019 class.

Connor has been solid so far in his redshirt freshman year. He could whine a little less when he gets called for fouls, but I'm pretty sure I know where he gets that from.
Are you whining about him whining, implying he gets his whining from his Dad???(sarcasm)

He is the backup point guard we didn't have last year. That, and he and Bohanon on the floor at the same time are a good tandem.

I love his attitude too but I wish he didn't complain as much when he doesn't get a call, let his dad do that! He really could be the glue that makes this team great

He really knows the game

Extremely basketball savvy

There are many on the team that have that quality

This is a smart team. No panic this year

Weird it’s almost like he’s a coaches kid and a top 150 recruit who could have got a ship anywhere. (Not you) some people look dumb

Yeah other teams fans are gonna HATE him, ain’t it great? He’s competitive and has fire, is that a bad thing?

Makes sense. Moss hasn't developed enough of a well roumded game to warrant starter minutes.

Among other things, he treats rebounding like it's a disease.

He could be a three point specialist off the bench.

I'd like to find a way to get his free throw shooting into late close game as well. He can be a good closer at the line.
