McCaffery has already made one BIG mistake

Lighten up Francis...

I am not blaming FM for Larson and I am not going to blame him if Larson goes elsewhere.

I am simply stating that to make a statement that suggests that we have a very realistic chance of re-recruiting Larson will make it appear to be a FM failure when he goes elsewhere.

All I am saying is that he should have just kept his mouth shut.

I'm sorry that it blew over your head.

It's just so nit-picky.

Anyone with any understanding of college basketball should know that 90% of the time, the de-commit doesn't end up with the new coach after opening things up. It's basically just a statement to show that things ended amicably and there are no hard feelings, and they'll both consider each other.

This is the type of post that is so prevalent in all types of message boards and "talk" shows around the country. Highlight the negative view.
I'm going to presume the OP has no inside information from either side and is presumably stating his opinion as to how he sees this particular situation panning out.
Why do the majority of posters in this situation highlight the negative view, ie "McCaffery has already made one BIG mistake." Wouldn't it be just as easy highlight the positive angle, "McCaffery may get Larson yet!.

I'm a believer that negativity breeds negativity. If you think it, talk it and preach it, it is more likely to happen. Do you think the movers and shakers in the world look at the negatives of starting a new business more than they look at the positives? I know a few people who are very, very successful and rarely do I ever here them dwell on or even voice concern about possible negatives in their ventures. It is just simply counter productive.

Message boards are for discussion and the OP was making a legit reference to McCaffery's comment but the constant negative vibe created nearly two decades ago must be put to rest for Iowa basketball to regain the prominence it once had in the basketball world. It takes a village to raise a child and Iowa basketball is back in its infancy.

The only thing blowing over anyones head is you making an ignorant statement to start this thread. Unless you're 8 or younger you would know that everyone is putting a spin on everything. That's the way of the world.
