McCabe- one of best practice players in nation

McCabe must be one of the best practice players in the nation to stay in a starting lineup as poorly as he starts off games.

Foul trouble has plagued McCabe early in more than one game which forced AW to come in the game..... where he outperformed nearly everyone on the court.

I realize it is about who finishes the games..... but Mccabe has performed poorly at the beginning of the MSU game, Purdue, and Wisconsin.

It might have been the Wisconsin game.....or Purdue game..... McCabe was very rattled by his foul troubles..... and Gatens did an excellent job getting in his ear being a leader. I think that clearly showed McCabe has a confidence issue with his foul troubles.
With that being said, maybe coming into the game later.... instead of starting.... would help him rid of that fear of committing fouls. Let him play more aggressively. Put his mind at ease.

White should start over mcCabe

Yup and so should Cartwright. :D
In all honesty I think that while he is still a freshie White would do better off the bench than getting the start, but hey who knows. Look what he's doing now, bringing a little energy into what looked like a dead team, we are surging with him out there right now

Mccabe is a very good defensive player. he was very good against Minnesota I think it was... he just needs to be confident all of the time.

Fran has said that AW doesn't have the stamina to start. He's gradually giving him more minutes. You have to have confidence in Fran's ability to successfully run a basketball program. He knows the game, the players, and how to bring a program back to life.

Agreed. I'm not a basketball coach. I don't know more than Fran. I tried to describe what has happened in the games, we can all see that regardless of our resumes.

I don't understand the stamina part. You can keep White around 20 minutes...maybe a little more if you need too.... by starting him.

You can still substitute and monitor minutes if he starts, no?

p.s.... this is not said in an argumentative tone.... feel like you have to clarify that at all times..... trying to discuss it, not saying you were wrong by any means.... hope you take it that way.

It's all good.

So what does it matter if he starts or not??? McCabes toughness is something we need.

To get off to a better start. He hasn't shown toughness when he can't stay in the game because of fouls. I haven't seen the toughness at the beginning of the games. Half of league games he is on the bench the majority of the 1st half.....this game he clearly did not impress with toughness........ and White has responded well.
The Wisconsin game.... when McCabe went to the bench because of foul trouble.... White is who began the spark. Almost a good thing McCabe did get into early foul trouble.

That is an opinion. I respect yours as well..... Just having a conversation about the team. I don't know a single thing more than Fran about basketball.... or probably you for that matter....... enjoy the conversation, thanks.
