No, marketing is making sure that everyone knows that he has scored the most points in his first 4 starts, and that he is asian american. It's brilliant for the NBA, opening up the market even more in Asia.

Yeah, after the said guy gave him a flying headbutt. Martinez is too big now to even come down to a catch weight. Mayweather is a punk, but his boxing talent is second to none right now.

I understand your position and I am normally on your side with regards to ESPN and their 24 hour hype machine however in this situation it is completely warranted. Anytime a player who is completely undrafted has a better start scoring the basketball than anyone in the history of the game, and does it on the biggest stage in basketball, it deserves the hype.
You can't honestly say that is all marketing.

Why would he try to bait someone who he has repeatedly declined to fight? That makes zero sense.
Mayweather is a great boxer, but I don't know how you can say he is for sure better than Manny P. Most experts disagree with you. Why else is Floyd afraid to take what would be his BIGGEST PAYDAY EVER?

Except Manny is the one who declined this time. What experts are you talking about? After the Manny/Marquez fight, a lot of experts expect Money to pick apart Pac Man.
Floyd's team stated all the conditions of the fight without giving Manny any say. To say Manny is the one holding up the fight is ridiculous and not based in facts. In any normal fight you don't dictate all the terms to your opponent. The fact you don't realize this shows you lack knowledge about boxing. Especially considering Manny has already agreed to take a smaller cut of the purse than Floyd!

MP agreed to take a smaller cut of the purse? Big whoop. Mayweather told him the day that should have worked for both, and "it doesn't work" for MP? He had ample time for a training camp, more than enough. I really like Freddie Roach and Manny, but I personally feel they don't want to fight Mayweather because they know he will lose.

Okay, again straying from the topic a bit, but did anyone see Pat Fitzgerald/Northwestern's tweet about Lin? What a classic cop-out by Northwestern. So, basically what I read from this is when Fitzgerald makes "good" tweets that are not offensive, they are from him. However, when he could get in hot water for the issue, they say someone else wrote them. What a bunch of crap. I'm not on Twitter much, but the rule should be, if it is your name, you are responsible for what is said.
