Maye Fran's Kids shouldn't Play for him

I really think it could get a bit ugly in the next couple of years with McCaffrey likely to survive at least that long with the Barta fiasco! It would not be easy for a kid to be playing for his dad under what might be "adverse" conditions. Most Iowa fans are classy but there are always a few that are not.
Maybe baseball is the right option for the first son and the second may want to keep options open. Im sure we will know a lot more by this time next year

They should definitely be aware of the scrutiny that will come with playing for their dad. As long as they know in advance and are willing to accept it, then it will be fine. All they have to do is be player of the year material like McDermott and all will be fine anyway. :)

It's gonna get messy. I don't know when the last time you guys attended a high school game but there are way more idiots out there than you guys are giving credit for.

What do you mean we will know a lot more by this time next year? Do you honestly think something is going to change between now and then? The kid is going to Iowa and you’re delusional if you think otherwise.

So you don’t think we’re gonna get any better? Did it ever cross your mind that this is a blip on the radar screen. So you don’t think we’re gonna get any better?

Did it ever cross your mind that this is a blip on the radar screen? This team has talent and is going to get more talent over the next two years as well. We just need to solve the point guard issue and this team is going to get better.

Coaching your kid takes on a different dimension. It isnt easy. Saucy mom who has a history who is perimenopausal age. Saucy kids who argue with fans. Nuclear dad who has anger issues. Struggling team. What could go wrong?

We won't get much better this year. Not really possible with the roster playing and the games left on the schedule. Next year will be better but not enough to get to the NCAA tournament. This roster sorely lacks athleticism. If Tyler Cook leaves, the athleticism will drop several rungs. Adding JW, Connor, CJ and Patrick will not increase the athleticism to where it needs to be, to compete in the BIG. They are all good athletes but none of them are great athletes. JW is the most athletic of the bunch and if he plays the SF spot, he'll hold his own among BIG SFs.

I don’t think this is supposed to be about you and yours. It’s about Fran and his.

Games left on the schedule? Did you see the Michigan State Wisconsin game? By my math we are 3 points better than them.

They are all BIG teams. Your math said we were going to win 23+ games before this season started. We are 2-7 in the BIG. Every team left on the schedule has more conference wins than we do. How does that fact enter into your math?

What are you talking about? We beat Wisconsin by 18. Michigan State beat Wisconsin by 15. 18-15=3. That's 2nd grade math man.

Haha nice breakdown.. You could be closer to being on the money than not. I totally laughed at it.
That said if his kids end up being worth a darn it won't matter. They can't be the 8th and 9th men. They gotta be big time contributors.

Where do you think Cook is going?

Not a thing, if you like Keeping Up With The Kardashians or The Batchelor. On the other hand, Iowa basketball could become appointment TV just to see what happens next.

Sort of like why you watch NASCAR,
