Maybe McCaffery Can Get This PG To Iowa?

Rumor on TOS is that Marble Jr. is a close friend to a player who signed with Siena and is trying to talk him into coming to Iowa.

Siena has signed two players, so Siena would have to grant the release if anyone wanted to follow him to Iowa. Generally it happens. Both are forwards, we need that extra pg.

Its amazing that a 19 year old is acting more mature about this than a lot of people on here. (who I assume are at least 19, but you never know)

Bryon Allen is ranked the 10th best undeclared recruit left for next year:

College Basketball Recruiting Prospects 2010 - ESPN

Allen has not yet signed (per Scout and Rivals). He has shown interest in Siena so it's possible that he may "follow the coach." Since he's not signed there would be no release necessary.

Allen is not the player that Marble is speaking of... that's Burdine 6'5" Small Forward (I believe). He is committed to Siena, so he would have to be released from his LOI.

I don't know if Coach would be trying to take them along. It might - perhaps - depend on who he assembles as his assistant staff and what their connections are on available players too.

I would think Marble and most (if not all) of the recruits and current players will like the change to an up-tempo game. McCaffery's current style would mean we'll seem more fast breaks in the first 2-3 games next year than we saw this entire past season.

Watching who Coach assembles for his staff will be interesting. I think he's going to have to pull in some midwest recruiting expertise.

I like the sound of this kid. We definately need somebody who is tough and not afraid to push it or try and make plays.

i dunno about you guys but unless Coach has someone in mind i wouldnt mind seeing Walthall considered for a job. especially because he recruited fuller.

Not sure if Chad wants to stick around, but as I posted in another thread, I'd like to see him on this staff...I'm with you 9YRPLAN.

I doubt that Marble would be stupid enough to complain on Twitter about his new coach even if he was 100% unhappy with the choice.

The pieces would seem to fit for Bryon Allen to make it to Iowa. Maybe this was brought up in the interview process. Obviously this is pure conjecture on my part, but you never know how these things go down. Who knows if Allen wants to be that far from home, but it is an instant opportunity to play in the Big 10.
